you could get the squiggly masher, but that is a uni-jobber (like unabomber, but worse because you're wasting your money) because it can only be used to make "smashed" potatoes. a potato RICER will make soft, fluffy, finely mashed potatoes so that big chunks won't knock out Grandpa's dentures. PLUS, you can use the ricer later when you're making gnocchi.

soggy lettuce is about as chic as...showing up to dinner with soaking wet hair straight out of the shower. send it for an easy spin in the oxo salad spinner, which is the fastest way to completely dry your lettuce. with everything else you're making for thanksgiving dinner, the last thing you need to do is take a blowdryer to your frisee.

and don't think just because you're using triple-washed lettuce from a bag that you don't even have to do a little dunk in your FIT fruit and veggie wash, either. ALWAYS wash ALL your lettuces.

if you are so lucky, you might be able to find the EXTRA heavy aluminum foil, but if not, just double up to form the breast shield for your bird. yes, a breast shield - you've got to keep the breast covered, otherwise it'll look (and taste) like la lohan after level 3 mystic tanning long before the rest of the bird is even tinted.

To be quite honest, these seem a little obnoxious - designer zipper lock bags? I wouldn't waste them with food things since that means you would have to throw them away after a single use, but to keep as a semi-permanent storage use for travel, they work pretty well.
