BPA-free - a list by designdude
Options for This Page
About this list:
BPA, short for Bisphenol A, is an organic compound found in many plastics, particularly Polycarbonate, a clear material common in baby bottles. Studies of BPA have shown it to mimic estrogen, and exposure is thought to possibly result in early puberty for girls. That's the short version, but you may want to keep an eye on how much of this material your child is exposed to, and complete avoidance is not a bad option. Fortunately, those kinds of lifestyle choices are getting easier to come by.
Qualifications:
My wife reads a healthy mix of baby blogs and medical blogs.

First to recommend
Description
Anyone with a toddler knows that travel is less Europe or Asia than it is the neighborhood park or the pubic garden across town. But packing for lunch is still a necessity. This handy travel utensil kit makes lunch a painless process, complemented by a BPA-free design.

Nuby Fork and Spoon Set

Description
Sporks seem to make a lot of sense in the junior high cafeteria, but the utensil's true calling is for feeding a toddler. This Nuby set is just the right size for a small child getting the hang of self-feeding, and a BPA-free design makes the 4-pack set even safer.

Description
Feeding is easily the most disgusting element of child-rearing for me, which makes simple items like this Catch Bowl seems so ingenious. The bowl's extended lip catches items falling from the utensils of novice eaters, and the BPA free design adds a real element of security.
