GORGEOUS...now , I don't actually OWN this vessel , however, I would love to...anyone out there feeling generous? Hand-crafted by Buccellati master silversmiths out of sterling silver, one can see why they have been in business since 1750... breathtaking combination of classic and modern design.... i want this....

Lars Zech , a sculptor, gardener and woodsman,, taking the trunks of trees fallen due to disease, age or weather in the nearby forests he recreates the strength , energy and majesty that they once posessed ,,,his bowls and stools and sculptures are created in his atelier at the edge of the Black Forest .... an average bowl is 30" across..spectacular ! you can see more of his work at larszech.de

Franco Deboni Glass plate with white scum

Franco Deboni is a Milan based glass artist...he is making glass like never before... Dark, earthy colours for vases, glass that cannot be seen through...craterlike surfaces , using techniques learned at the knees of Albino Carrara (Venetian glassmaker who worked with Picasso and Cocteau) he knows the boundaries of glass making and he shatters right through them to create some of the most beautiful pieces I have seen...unfortunately they are hard to find...this plate is beautiful, however his vases, simple shapes, dark and metallic colours are really divine...look for his book and work...worth the effort.

I love this idea,,,create a container that reflects the items it holds..ie: fruit
made of white, glazed stoneware,,, this bowl looks like it has been moulded over the clustered fruit it holds.... so the design is in what it holds...
Comes in black too.
