The fact that they left the tongue in this shoe is supposed to be playful I guess. I find it a little odd, but the shoe is still very attractive.

Victorian women used to suffer for beauty by trying to achieve the "perfect" 21 inch waist through wearing corsets from a young age. You'll probably be carrying on that tradition in these shoes and their 4 1/4 inch heel. Do I think the 1 inch platform is going to really do anything to mitigate your pain? No. But don't despair, you're going to look fabulous.
