Common Reaction: Uh Huh Her: Music

Description
Fantastic pop and nothing more. But that is not a slight to their craftsmanship; they write catchy, heavily-melodic pop songs laden with synths, guitars and harmonies. A very summery album -- and they're just as good live!

Heima: Sigur Ros DVD

Description
A music DVD that shows the scope and intensity of Iceland's geography. Seeing the Icelandic landscape -- in all its majesty, beauty and volatility (sandstorms, volcanic ruins, green pastures with horses and sheep, fjords, and glaciers). To better understand just how moving Sigur Ros's music can be (if you haven't been to Iceland), I think this would make for a good substitution!

Hank Mobley is probably one of the unsung heroes of jazz. He played with the best of them and has put out some stellar records: Soul Station is one of them.

Workout: Hank Mobley

Description
Smooth and straightfoward playing with smart compositions and solos. A great team of Mobley, guitarist Grant Green (one of my favorites), Joe Jones and Paul Chambers. Another thoughtful, lyrical album with Hank Mobley in the deserving forefront.

Description
With the lead-off cut, "Three-Way Split," you know you're in for a rollicking, toe-tapping, lyrical record. Excellent.
