Casu Marzu - maggot cheese
First to recommend
Description
So you can't order Casu Marzu online- probably because the live maggots that give this cheese its unique taste might not survive. If you are planning to travel to Sardinia, however, it's important to know about this local delicacy.

Mariza Durian Jam
First to recommend
Description
Fresh durian is so stinky it is apparently banned on Singapore's public transportation. I've read people describe the smell as similar to natural gas or cat poo. You may be able to get whole fruits at your local Asian market but if you're too far from a city you may have to settle for trying this jam which one Amazon.com reviewer characterizes as tasting like "vanilla, banana, onions, and spices."

Cheeseburger in a Can
4 people recommended this item
Description
Possibly one of the most disgusting food products *ever* & so is perfect for office xmas parties, gifts for siblings, etc. etc. The review of this item at A.V. club is good for a stomach flip or two: http://www.avclub.com/content/feature/taste_test_cheeseburger_in_a

Turducken
First to recommend
Description
Turducken gets its name from its ingredients: a de-boned turkey stuffed with a de-boned duck, which itself is stuffed with a de-boned chicken-- and, of course, all the nooks and crannies are filled with stuffing. The origin of the dish is debated, but some believe it to be Hebert's Specialty Meats which has been cooking them since 1985. They'll ship you a completely prepped and frozen turducken for you to defrost (allow 4-5 days) and cook (allow 4-5 hours).

Rattle Snake Meat
First to recommend
Description
Apparently rattlesnake meat is light and tender. It's also pricey- $40 a pound, with rattlers delivered whole averaging 2-3 lbs.

MiracleFruit
2 people recommended this item
Description
A chew or two and the unique protein of this berry turns even the most sour foods sweet. They're not cheap at $3 each with a minimum order of thirty from this retailer, but consider that they have the power to fool your taste buds into thinking sweet when they actually taste sour, spicy, bitter or well- anything but sweet. Not only do they trick your tongue, but they do it for over an HOUR. I have to try it!

Miracle Berry Fruit Tablets
10 people recommended this item
Description
Oh boy- a cheaper more palatable way to try miracle fruit! If you haven't heard yet, these berries contain a protein, "miraculin," that makes your mouth taste everything as sweet for quite a while- so long, in fact, that the FDA did not approve it for use as a sweetener.
