Japonesque Eyelash Curler

First to recommend

Description

I got beauty slapped a few weeks ago when I confessed that I had never used an eyelash curler. The horror, right? Leave it my friend Ben from We Love Beauty to come to my rescue. Ben gifted me with this eyelash curler from Japonesque and basically told me 'use this or else.' Ben is a beauty genius and who am I to argue with a genius so I used the curler.

I lost my eyelash curler virginity and it was magical. Who knew that one pump of a crazy metal contraption would feel so good. Okay maybe it wasn't so much a feeling but the results were magical.

The Power Curl Eyelash Curler took my already long lashes to new heights, literally they lifted up my lashes into a gorgeous curl I have never had before. This lash curler is different than all the others, it has an innovative pivot that puts pressure in all the right places. The result is a more natural curl that will have you looking your best.

So I am dying to know, am I the only girl on earth who hadn't used an eyelash curler? Or are there more of people like me out there? (via We Love Beauty)

Japonesque Manicure Set

First to recommend

Description

Here is a little something that only the people closest to me know ... My nails are busted, like all the time. I am not a manicure girl, in fact my best friend once told me that my hands are "fit for digging." Pretty harsh huh?

Occasionally (like once a year)I will shock people and get a manicure at a salon. Why so seldom you ask? I fear disease so naturally I have assumed that I will pick up something nasty and lose a finger at a nail salon. My manicures need to be done in a clean environment, my house.

Good thing I just got this handy kit from Japonesque which has everything I need for a manicure. These quality stainless steel tools are inside a protective case (mine is red) that opens up for easy access to your tools. The kit includes nail clippers, cuticle scissors, tweezers, nail nippers, and a combo tool that files, scoops and grooms.

The first step for me is figuring out what all of that stuff does and the second step is actually using them. Wish me luck! (via We Love Beauty)

MD Skincare All-Over Blemish Solution

First to recommend

Description

I have a confession, I was seriously ghetto about an hour ago.

You see about a year and a half ago I went to Nordstrom and the woman gave me a sample of this MD Skincare All Over Blemish Gel, it was awesome. After about a week (maybe two) I had polished off the sample and my skin was looking flawless. I went back in Nordstrom and bought a tube, or so I thought. What I had really bought was a MD Skincare Blemish Spot Treatment cream -- not the same but it was still pretty good.

I am working my way through the tube to this day (hope that's safe) but I kept on dreaming about the gel. Skip ahead to last week, I walk into Sephora to pick up my gel and almost fall over when I see the price tag -- $84. I have to say it would be worth it because this gel can take the ugliest skin and make it flawless but $84 was not in the cards for me, so I walked away.

Now here comes the ghetto part.

I go back into Sephora today because I have an hideous blemish on my cheek with the intention of doing a dab and run. Suddenly a stoke of genius hit me ... Ask them for a sample. So I did and here I am with my tiny sample in my bag and a dab of gel on my face. I can feel it working and I know by morning my pimple will be gone. Maybe next time I will fork over the cash and get a full sized bottle, or maybe I will just go to a different Sephora and be ghetto again.

5 oz Goats Milk Lotion: Kate Somerville

First to recommend

Description

I am not one to go with fancy lotions for my body. I go fancy with my face because, well, it's my face. The beautiful Ben from We Love Beauty was kind enough to gift me with a bottle of Kate Somerville's Goats Milk Lotion (for the body), so of course I had to shelve my $3 bottle of cocoa butter to give this stuff a whirl.

There is something about fancy lotion that just makes you feel good. Instead of jumping out of the shower and slapping on some Jergens, I sauntered out of the shower and carefully put on my Kate Somerville lotion, boy did it feel good.

The consistency of the lotion was milky (duh) and didn't feel greasy at all, it was actually quite lovely. Goat milk is known for its healing and restorative qualities which makes it excellent for your skin. It's chock full of vitamins and proteins which dramatically improves the health of your skin.

Here are some other fun facts about this fancy lotion:

* Lactose exfoliates & helps speed cellular turnover
* Goat milk has a very close pH to our own skin & won't cause irritation
* Witch hazel is a natural antiseptic & helps fight bacteria
* Organic aloe calms & conditions skin

I will absolutely continue to use my goat's milk lotion and I will be sure to keep you posted on the status of my skin. (via We Love Beauty)

Hourglass Cosmetics- Extreme Lip Sheen

First to recommend

Description

When you first take a look at this tube of lip gloss you see glitter and you are like "Whoa! I am not in the seventh grade anymore, get that stuff away from me." You must ignore that inner dialog because this is probably the most fantastic lip gloss you will ever use.

When you apply it you don't even see the glitter that was on the tube on your lips. It's like a lip gloss miracle, the only thing you see is shine. The shine or "extreme sheen" isn't obnoxious and plastic looking like MAC's lip glass (gosh I remember my college days of over dosing on that stuff). The sheen you get is a wet shine that looks sexy and polished.

Another great thing about this gloss is the fact that it isn't sticky like some of those other lip glosses. The texture is creamy and soft, just beware you will be tempted to continuously rub your lips together which can result in a loss of gloss. So apply, pout and look hot - no rubbing - and you will be just fine. (via We Love Beauty)

Hourglass Cosmetics- Blush Duo

First to recommend

Description

I am not usually into blush because its so darn hard to put on. Because of my fear I usually go with a cream blush or a blush stick from Tarte. However, I got this nice blush palette by Hourglass as a Christmas present and hello I am in love.

The kit comes with a darker shade and a lighter shade which helps define your cheek bones. I sweep the darker shade along my cheekbones and then dab the lighter shade on the apples of my cheeks. The power goes on pretty dark so blending is required, but the make up doesn't feel heavy on the face at all.

You can choose between two different color combinations: Brazilian for darker skin (which is what I use) and Burlesque which has peachier and pink shades for more fair complexions. (via We Love Beauty)

Pin Up Lip Balm

First to recommend

4 people recommended this item

Description

These can easily be called the cutest lip glosses in the world. Who knew something so simple could bring me so much pleasure.

These pin up inspired lip glosses come in a variety of flavors and each flavor has a different pin up design on the package. Every design/ flavor combination is so adorable ... it made it hard to choose which one I wanted.

Here is the rundown with degrees of cuteness (100 degrees is the hottest):

- Mocha: Has a pin up girl in a fur coat, very retro chic ... 98 Degrees

- Citrus: This tin of balm has a raunchy girl in a bikini doing a back bend.... 76 Degrees

- Grape: This one almost got a 100 from me because the pin up is a can-can girl, but grape isn't my favorite flavor ... 88 Degrees

- Peppermint: This is the on I chose because it as a girl riding a polar bear ... 100 Degrees

- Lemonade: Great flavor and an adorable little country girl pin up... 100 Degrees

- Raspberry: Sultry and sexy.... 92 Degrees

- Vanilla: I am a sucker for vanilla flavoring but the girl was a bit too vanilla for me ... 68 Degrees

- Coconut: Who doesn't go nuts for coconut? This one gets a 89 Degree rating.

My silly rating system aside, these are great lip balms. Not sticky at all and they don't reek. The size is right too, just slip it into your pocket or purse and you are off. (via ThisNext Blog)

Too Faced 'Lash Injection' Mascara

First to recommend

4 people recommended this item

Description

I got this mascara in one of my goody bags from LA Fashion Week. I haven't opened it yet but I am looking forward to giving my lashes an "injection". Apparently 3-4 coats are recommended for a false eyelash look. Has anyone tried this yet? Does it work? I guess I could go home and find out but I like to hear other peoples opinions too.
