ACME Bags Workhorse Style 1500

3 people recommended this item

Description

This is maybe the next level of plastic-alternative shopping bags. The acme workhorse, with its nylon design, conveniently fits into a tiny carrying sheath that will fit in your jacket pocket, your purse, or your glove box. It's also designed to fit over the frames at supermarkets that hold plastic bags, making it easy for baggers to use.

The simple cotton tote bag that makes a fine alternative to one-time-use bags given to you at the grocery story is just so much more appealing when you make a political statement out of it. Right?

Freddy & Ma's Vote Totes

Description

The tote bag brought into the grocery store to avoid using plastic bags is a political statement in itself (unless you're in SF). But these bags take it to a whole other level.

RECYCLED NEWSPAPER MARKET TOTE BAG

Description

Great application using recycled newspaper. I'm not sure the strength of the handles though... Probably more for lightweight shopping. No canned foods probably.

Navy Stem Organic Canvas Tote

First to recommend

Description

It's not hard to see canvas tote bags as the new medium of choice for young commercial graphic artists, possibly taking the position of tees a few years ago. This bag by Ahpeele is made from organic materials, making it an ideal eco-shopping alternative.

Monkey News Tote Bag

First to recommend

Description

For the uninitiated, Karl Pilkington, a regular on Ricky Gervais' podcasts, drives a feature in each episode in which he retells a supposedly authentic and newsworthy story about a sub-human primate engaging the human world. Generally met with hysterical laughter, the occasional angry scream, and round dismissal as "complete bollocks," the features is a highlight of the each episode. And here's the commemorative tote bag.

Loneliest Man in the World

First to recommend

Description

A bit misguided, this tote attempts to refer to Pilkington's suggestion that the guy who didn't get to exit the lunar module with "Buzz and Armstrong" to walk on the moon was the loneliest man ever...in the world." This image was probably pulled from a pic of someone standing on the moon. Just saying.
