ATTIGO Touchscreen Turntable

this is a really intriguing approach to djing--a touchscreen turntable. it uses a touch-sensitive screen with an interface similar to serato. while it's just a one-off prototype (for now) and the jury's out on its performance, usability and durability, it'll definitely find its way into the homes of design-obsessed bedroom djs.

from the video, it looks like it runs tiger, which also opens up a lot of possibilities. check the via link for video. (via gizmodo)

the wire would have been a lot more interesting if the greek had one of these things. plugs into your cigarette lighter and disables all gps tracking within about a 5m radius. bring a map, though--it'll knock out your nav system (and with a 5m radius, probably everyone at the stoplight with you). surefire way to drop off the grid.

this is a pretty cool idea--remember making telephones from a piece of string and a couple tin cans? no? you didn't grow up in '50s movies?

even if you didn't grow up in a '50s movie, these tin can speakers look right. can't say how they sound, but the art (by mint & serf) is pretty cool.
