This soap is a great tool for helping kids learn proper handwashing. One squirt puts a red dot on your child's hand. When the dot is scrubbed away, hands are clean! Why didn't they think of this sooner?

I think this might also make a nice, smallish gift for cooks. After handling raw chicken, wouldn't it be nice to scrub away that red dot and just know you didn't still have tiny bits of salmonella on your hands? (via squidsoap.com)

Sticker Scratcherz

Sticker Scratcherz are fun. I'm not sure who likes them more, my five year old or me. The kit comes with plenty of blank, heavy-duty stickers. You peel bits of adhesive off the front of the sticker, lay a piece of holographic paper over the front and whatever color the holographic paper is sticks to that particular section of your sticker. So in the end, you get a sticker with all different colors and patterns.

We discovered this toy in the UK. I believe in the US, you have to order it on-line from the As Seen on TV people. In the UK, you can buy it at Harrod's. Hopefully, more stores in the states will carry it.

My six year old, a big Build-a-Bear fan, saw this at Target early this year. She begged for it for months and I kept giving her the old "Sometimes toys aren't as fun as the kid on the box makes them seem" lecture. Her campaign for the toy was relentless, so on her birthday, my husband bought her the toy at Target. Along with being euphoric over finally getting the toy she wanted, our family was happy to discover the toy wasn't complicated and the stuffed bears were fun to make. The kit comes with 3 bear pelts and after you stuff them, you can buy refills on-line or at Target. Great little toy.
