Studio Olafur Eliasson - An Encyclopedia by Philip Ursprung
2 people recommended this item
Description
This large, heavy and beautifully illustrated book covers the best of Olafur's studio work - from the Serpentine Gallery to the Weather Project.
The Studio's recent projects are organized in a conceptual alphabet that begins with 'Architecture', although, to do his scientific approach justice, it should really begin on 'Alchemy'.

Description
Wonderful advertising ideas inside a terrible, dreadful cover. Seriously, what can be more cliché than the bald head > brains > great idea concept?
So get over the cover, browse around this one and even if you dont buy it, you'll be a lot more aware of the best that's being creating in advertising today.

Graphic Design: The New Basics: Ellen Lupton, Phillips Jennifer Cole

Description
A new addition to the design basics lot. This one has an interesting selection of new techniques. The down point is the examples - and even most techniques - will be dated in a few years. So you might be better fo browsing around FFFFOUND that spending your 30 bucks on this one. Still, it's an interesting book for designers to-be.

Description
Sophie merges concept and words seamlesly, which is not a very usual combination among contemporary artist.
She manages to turn love letters and questionnaires not nto real art pieces, and by that I mean pieces that make you question, that make you think, and that ultimately, leave you inspired.

Description
One of the best looking infodesign books of 2008, Data Flow is a clever take on infographics with inspirational exaples and in-depth analysis of current trends.
The good thing is stays right in between the coffee table and textbook formats. Since today most design books tend to rely on graphics rather than point of view, this is a really a smart choice for anyone interested in the subject.
