For about $70 a year, buy the pollution rights that a more-enlightened society would include in the price of the gas you buy. Or buy it as a gift for an eco-friend.

Sonos Digital Music System

6 people recommended this item

Description

This is a plug-and-play music appliance that cooperates with Rhapsody to play any one of millions of songs and Internet radio stations from your home. From Joel Splosky's article, it sounds like it's easier to set up than Slim Devices' Squeezebox. The UI is certainly nicer. My only complaint about the Squeezebox is its clunky web UI.

The particular bundle in my Amazon link includes two amplified bases (the ZP100s), which would be ideal for rooms where you want to be able to listen to music but don't need audiophile quality. You can also purchase ZP80s, which plug into your existing amplifier. (via Joel Splosky)

A 3D model of the known universe. Scale: 2 inches = 200 megaparsecs; includes both bright and dark matter, but not dark energy. How much would you pay? Throw in a lighted stand and, at $93, it's a steal. (via John Baez)
