Nature vs Future Obi Belt Shirtdress
First to recommend
Description
Purple is the new brown which was the new green, which we all know was (and is!) the new black. I love how the cut and detailing gives this organic cotton and Ingeo (the eco polyester!) shirtdress an avant-garde feeling, and the color is just stand-out and rich. (via Sprig.com)

World Food Programme Feed Bag
8 people recommended this item
Description
I use this bag till it’s filthy (both sides—it’s reversible), and then I wash it and go again. It’s comfy on the shoulder, it holds as little or as much as you want, and it has that cool edgy downtown urbanista flavor. Plus there really is nothing better than knowing that buying this bag will feed a hungry child in school for a year. The cotton is undyed (heavy-metal dyes are pretty toxic) and the burlap contains jute fiber, a rapidly renewing resource.

SIGG Sportbottle

Description
There's no need to purchase wasteful bottled water. Plastic water bottles are often shipped across the world to end up on your store shelves. And on top of the wasted fuel to get them to you, the plastic bottles are difficult to recycle. Instead, use filtered water at home (or buy locally bottled Spring water in gallon size bottles) and reuse these stylish metal water bottles. Tip: add a sliver of cucumber to gently flavor the water. It tastes like spa water then!

jane iredale Raspberry PureGloss for Lips

Description
Ever since Sprig’s Beauty and Lifestyle Editor Suzanne Murray told me about Jane Iredale—how her mineral makeup is like Bare Escentuals but without the talc and preservatives, and so much purer—I’ve been going hogwild. I especially love the minty-tasting Raspbery PureGloss For Lips, the perfect light rose-brown for every day.

Wary Meyers Coat

Description
It’s too early to think about a fall coat, but I am tempted to place an order now for one of Linda Meyer’s handmade perfect hooded wool coats in cream. It’s couture, but reasonable couture, as there’s no doubt that this will last forever, and since no machines are involved, fewer carbon emissions will be released into the atmosphere.

Q Collection Bessie Side Chair

Description
My décor dream is to reupholster all my soft furnishings with eco latex and organic batting, so that I no longer have to think about all the toxic PBDEs in the disintegrating foam that get puffed out every time somebody sits down. Until an organic reupholsterer exists, however, I would be thrilled to own a piece of Q Collection furniture—their green creds and style quotient are unparalleled (but I’ll have to save up for months). Food that hasn’t been cooked over 118 degrees and is composed primarily of veggies and nuts can’t be yummy to eat, right? Wrong. It’s shocking how tasty dishes like the Pizza Italiano, Thai Curry Soup or Seed Cheese Wrap is when made by this food-delivery service.

A friend and former colleague brought these back from Buenos Aires, and I’ve been crazy about these organic teas ever since. Those cute muslin bags and fantastic pure lemon-verbena aroma! And now they’re available in the U.S.

Deep Steep Moisture Stick

Description
This moisturizer-in-a-stick does double duty as a super-intensive body cream AND a hair pomade, for when I want a little more rock-n-roll in my new layered cut. Plus it smells like a heavenly orange grove.
