Editorial Reviews
From Booklist
*Starred Review* Mastering knitting skills requires discipline, attitude, and wit to transform a ho-hum stitcher into a badass knitter--a domiknitrix. Stafford uses the dominatrix language well and with humor in this entertaining, beautifully designed, and instructive book. A stern but encouraging teacher, she approaches knitting and designing knitwear in a way best described as punishing, but she does not expect her readers to do the same. She does expect them to take her advice and discipline their knitting. If you do, she promises results. Rip if you must. Knit a gauge or two or three until you get it right. Her advice is universally good, and she shares many useful tips. Obviously a serious knitwear designer, Stafford favors structured pieces and has included funky, form-fitting projects with broad appeal. She is a strong advocate of continental style, and some of her techniques are different from the standard instructions. This may be a difficult book to learn to knit from, since some steps are glossed over, such as how to make a slip knot; and some techniques, such as provisional cast on, could use an extra step or two for clarification. Knitters with the basics (cast on, knit, and purl) will find this a fun and highly instructional book to take them from scarf to structured clothing. Stafford's unique voice and style are the heart of the book. Unlike with many instruction books that might be flipped through, knitters will find themselves reading Stafford's entertaining prose cover to vinyl cover. Jennifer Palmer

Editorial Reviews
Publishers Weekly:
The knitting phenomenon takes a summer beach vacation in Paige's first book. Blurbed as "knits that melt onto your body" by Paige's archetype customer, Carmen Electra, Paige provides patterns for one teeny-tiny bikini after another, barely there in lush, full-color photos. Paige offers three chapters: the self-explanatory "Peace, Love & Bikinis;" "Sunshine, Good Vibes" with "Terry Short-shorts" and the "Little Mermaid Strapless Top;" and a collection of sexy evening and lounge wear like the "Sexpot Cami" in the "Cozy Homebodies" chapter.
Product Description
Knitting and crochet just got sexy. Celebrity swimsuit designer Ashley Paige reveals knit and crochet patterns for flirty, fabulous bikinis and more.
They’re flirty, they’re fun, they’re fresh. They’re gracing the pages of Elle, Seventeen, InStyle, and the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, and they’ve been spotted on the hot bods of Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani. They’re the crochet and knit swimwear designs of Ashley Paige, and now they’re available in Sexy Little Knits, a collection of twenty-four patterns for chic summer pieces—from swimwear and tanks to dresses and shorts.
Ashley’s most popular knit and crochet patterns combine sophisticated color and fun stitches with elegantly form-fitting shapes. This assortment of stylish knitwear is presented in three chapters:
“Peace, Love, and Bikinis” celebrates classic bikinis and one-piece swimsuits.
“Sunshine, Good Vibes” includes patterns for dresses, tank tops, miniskirts, and short-shorts.
“Cozy Homebodies” features slinky garments perfect for lounging, such as camisoles, bathrobes, and sleepwear.
Each pattern is accompanied by clear instructions and helpful suggestions for customizing these designs with fun trims, clever color choices, options for more (or less) coverage, and creative stitch possibilities. Lushly photographed by fashion favorite Yu Tsai, Sexy Little Knits makes it easy to create a whole summer wardrobe at home or on the beach.

You can upload your OWN images, too! Check out some of the options I added to the extra pictures section to get an idea of just how cool these are.
Perfect gift for teachers, teens, even kids (I just got two for my daughters for our Las Vegas vacation so they could feel "grown up" with their own purses).... Whether you put $5 on one as a stocking stuffer (Check out the "I Believe in Santa" design- sooooo cute!) or $250 for some serious gifting options, the customization gets rid of any silly ideas that this is an 'impersonal' gift. Imagine how much fun your little one will have with her "own" credit card.... and how much her teacher will appreciate the freedom to choose something she REALLY wants this Christmas.
Choose from hundreds of designs or upload your own. Then just pick an amount, enter the name that will appear on the card and itwill arrive in one of several attractive gift envelope options in about a week (Rush shipping available).
These are one-time use cards- ie the recipient can use them up until the balance is zero. They aren't refillable. But kids will love them for pretend play when they're empty!

Aluminum Version Of Terra Cotta Pots

Description
I LOVE these pots and love the price even more. They have so many uses- fill them with colorful jewel-toned balls as tabletop decor, make a "S'mores" or "Winter Warm-Up" kit by tucking applicable gourmet treats and accessories in each and present it as a set, give them to little girls to use in magical "pretend" gardens during make-believe play (don't they look like the pots you would see in a princess's garden?) or roll up tshirts and cluster all of the cotton tubes into a pot to give a teenager.
Get your hands on some gorgeous ribbons and thick, shiny clear cellophane and have it on hand with these pots. When you need to wrap anything that will fit, you'll have a gorgeous way to present it!
I can't wait until these are back in stock! (via Evangelista)

Mirrored Advent Calendar (Re-Use it a Hundred Ways!)

Description
~Other uses? Trivia Game, Truth or Dare, Lifehacks and NY '09 Resolutions, Chore Chart, Jewelry Organizer..... so much more...~
It's like XMas at Studio 54! "Pass the 'nog, Andy! Powdered sugar for my holiday cookies? No, Bianca, I think I'll pass....."
I'll be honest. When it comes to advent calendars... well.... I'm a whore. Yes. I'm an advent calendar whore.
I can't help it! It's not so much about the countdown for me as it is about all the little nooks and crannies and boxes and pouches containing treasures. I don't care if they're cheap, tacky, ridiculous treasures. The anticipation is delicious.
"Yay, it's a new day! I wonder what piece of crap I get today?" I have been heard to trill as I leap and bound (well, roll and waddle) down the stairs every morning. (The fact that I am the only adult in the house and the one who restocked last season's calendar, and thus am in possession of the Crap 411 ie "What's Inside the Boxes," is something I choose to ignore. That's why I check early in the morning, before caffeine.)
I love this one in particular because it has so many non-advent calendar usages. From creative party food display (fill the boxes with truffles or hors d'oeuvres, leaving some doors open so that people can see what's inside, and set it on the buffet), to a jewelry box (if you're very organized you can print up a list of what numbers correspond to which pieces and attach it to the back) or come up with a game (trivia or Memory perhaps?) to play at an event.
Fun fashion pictures from the 80's (neon, jelly shoes, Aqua Net) that you print in pairs can go behind doors for a Memory-type game. Or type up baby questions or naughty sex truth-or-dare questions for a baby or bridal shower. How about putting a New Year's resolution or lifehack idea into each compartment and opening one a week in 2009? Or favorite quotes/relationship advice for an amazing wedding present?
Whatever. It's all good. Or so says the whore.
