Antique Bronze Legacy Corkscrew

First to recommend

Description

There are many technical reasons why this corkscrew is superior to all others, but honestly - The most beautiful corkscrew ever? ($80 at winenthusiast.com)

Drink Cooler By Piet Hein

11 people recommended this item

Description

Ice cubes - please. Those are so last century. This is a seamless, stainless steal cooling egg with a liquid core, by Dutch designer Piet Hein. No vouching for its humanitarian origin or chemical makeup, for all you hardcore earth-heads out there, but it does save water - and looks hot while it cools (snap!). ($36 at Unica Home)

A Gentleman's Companion

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

The first volume of the Gentleman's Companion is winkingly titled "Around The World Wth Jigger, Beaker & Flask", which includes a "meaty kernel of advice for those departing for the bars" as well as "proven formulae for home construction of certain bitters". The whole book is presented in this bombastic style, perfect for those who spend their evenings tipsy, not tanked. ($295 at Atlanta Antique Gallery)

Williams-Sonoma | Kegerator

Description

If you're not insane enough to convert your mini fridge into a kegerator by yourself, get ready to shell out the bucks. The advantage is, this one is a sleek black number, not like your crappy home made model.

Etched Globe Spirits Decanter

First to recommend

Description

Ouch, this thing is beautiful. A little on the pointless side in terms of functionality, this is more of a display decanter for something that can handle short-term exposure to light, like pale wine or whiskey. ($49.95 at Wineenthusiast.com)

Montepulciano D'Abruzzo Roccaventosa

First to recommend

Description

I don't know the first thing about wine - or I know just the first thing, but that's it - but Montepulciano was a favorite among Italians when I lived in Florence. It's cheap, robust, and sounds good to ask for when you go to an upper crust wine shop with the little lady. (around $12-25 depending on year).

Finlandia Vodka

First to recommend

Description

In my opinion, vodka shouldn't bring too much to the table besides agood burn in your throat, and a tiny hint of smooth sweetness. I like my vodka's nearly tasteless, in other words, and Finlandia fits the bill (about $20 for 750ML)

Russian Standard St. Petersburg Vodka

First to recommend

Description

Apparently, this is a fantastic bottle of vodka - smooth and clean with a sweet finish. I like the opaque bottle, and at $20, that's good enough for me.
