I was skeptical about how 3 would taste at first, but that is all a thing of the past. It is now one of my favorite premium vodkas now, and affordable at that. The main thing that made me skeptical about 3's potential flavor, is that it's distilled from soy. Vodka is produced from grain, potatoes, molasses, beets, and a variety of other plants, but generally not soy. Soy has become so popular as a foodstuff over the past several years, however, that it was bound to happen eventually. Anyway, because 3 is distilled from soy it is: carb-free, gluten-free, and sugar-free! Those were my other reasons for trying it. It has the mostly "neutral" flavor that one looks for in a vodka. So, it works well in cocktails, general infusions, etc. One stand out characteristic, however is a slight "sweetness", which makes gives 3 its own character. I highly recommend this one.
