Black and Decker is a name that I'm familiar with, and therefore am more likely to go with. I recommended an item similar to this a couple of weeks ago, but having now heard of a person actually having used this item successfully during a recent HURRICANE, I will definitely recommend this with something to back it up with. I like Maglites because if you accidentally drop them, the batteries don't pop out. You can change the intensity of the light. They would also make a pretty good weapon.

Description

One thing that can be very important in an emergency, is the ability to stay warm. This would help quite a bit, needless to say. You can die of hypothermia in a very short period of time.
