Description

I'm of a mixed mind about romance novels. On one hand I think the books themselves can be rather tawdry and perhaps a bit silly, but on the other hand the clothes they describe in some romance novels catch my fancy. I've had a love for houndstooth since I read a romance novel many many yearns ago and it described an old houndstooth jacket, elegant and timeless. This houndstooth capelet is just that. Perfect for the fall and winter. I like the black and white check..the cut of this capelet makes me want to wear it with a nice black turtleneck or perhaps a little black dress..either way it'll keep that fall chill out.

Mackage Wool Houndstooth Capelet

Description

Fall is a time to be wrapped in the warmth of a blanket. Sadly, you can't go out wrapped in a blanket. This black, white and grey plaid capelet looks like it'll be as warm as a blanket without the lack of hands and without the utter lack of shape. Plaid always seems to be a perfect fit come the fall. And this capelet looks like it'll protect against the chilliest fall frost and keep you warm against the dampest rain. Plus it has a leather belt to keep nice and set.

Karen Zambos Vintage Couture navy wool 3-button capelet

Description

Is there a season where navy isn't awesome? I don't think there is. And this navy capelet with it's princess seasons and buttons celebrates the awesomeness that is navy! It's more of a casual capelet. Perfect with perhaps jeans and a nice turtleneck. It's vaguely nautical (as how can navy not be) but not overly so.

Description

Cashmere is oh so soft. I like wrapping up in cashmere when it's chilly and relaxing as it's fluffy softness sits against my skin A black cashmere capelet like this is just the ticket for a fall of warmth...or maybe even a summers night. With it's casual bow I could see this over a nice dress or maybe more causal with a nice fallish outfit.

Tweed Capelet

Description

Catalogue shopping always has me slightly suspect. It's just, you can't feel the quality of the material. Newport News surprises me sometimes. In college my roommate once got this pair of crazy boots that I ended up adoring. And now this tweed capelet appears. It has almost a swing coat feel to it and the giant blank button seems slightly vintage. Plus, the price even if it doesn't last more than a season i's worth it.

Call me an old woman, but I love beads. Beads and cream together make me over the moon. I like the beaded bow, the beaded collar, the beaded trim and buttons. It feels like I should be wearing this with my hair in a bun as I charge into fall.

Byte by Teso Rabbit Fur Capelet

Description

Rabbit fur is so soft and cuddly. Though I know I look like dorky in them, I have a pair of fuzzy rabbit fur earmuff that keep me nice and warm. How much better would a full rabbit fur capelet be? This white rabbit fur capelet has an air of innocence about it. And an air of snuffly warmth. White rabbit fur is just what fall needs..and makes this capelet feel vintage!

Chinchilla Capelet

Description

Chinchilla! Well, faux chinchilla, but still it's still cute! The pink satin bow reminds me of the lacy satin Victorian age. Capelets are so nice and warm for the fall. I'm really loving the fact that capelets are returning this season. Nothing like a little bit of old fashioned glamour to make the modern girl feel pretty.

Dreamweaving Designs Furz Capelet in Black

Description

Some days a casual capelet is needed to throw over a pair of jeans and a black turtleneck. This layered knit black faux fur is just a nice warm, but not overwhelmingly warm layer. I think it would look food with long sleeves, nothing too short, otherwise it'll look funny. To tell you the truth, turtlenecks are the perfect under capelet fodder.

Cableknit Capelet in Camel

Description

Last Christmas I learned to cable kit. I adored knitting the cables. It added dimension And this cable knit capelet looks warm and has such a nice three dimensional detail to it. I think camel gets forgotten far too often as an acceptable and glorious color. Camel fits so perfectly with black (so much of my wardrobe). And seems to bring out the itty bit of a tan that I have in the winter.
