My 5 year old son has a mohawk and a heartfelt desire to be a rock star when he grows up. So it made perfect sense to me to dress him up as a punk rocker for Halloween. He wanted something scary though...so we settled on a zombie punk rocker. Here's how we did it.

Old Navy Jeans

I used a pair of loose fit jeans from Old Navy that MonkeyBoy had worn often this summer. We shredded the bottoms and took a cheese grater to the knees. Then we spattered them with "blood" for the authentic zombie look.

Street Style Triple Jeans Chain

Description

I picked up a few sets of chains that hook onto jeans at Hot Topic, but you can find them on the net too. I decided to go with these and regular jeans rather than trying to find a pair of pants with the chains and straps already attached in MonkeyBoy's size...these pants don't usually come in a kids size 6... :)

Punky Temporary Spray-in Hair Color

This is so fun! My son loves to have his hair colored and this is an easy, quick way to do it without any sort of commitment from him or me. Whatever color he decides on, he'll change his mind the next day...this way, we can change it every day.

Ghoul Makeup Kit

Description

To create the zombie look, I used white and black makeup and blended...and blended...and blended. Looking back, it might have been better to go with something like this. We covered his head (up to the mohawk) in the makeup too.

Of course...we finished the whole look off with tons of fake blood all over his shirt, pants, face, etc. "Make it look like I've been eating brains, mom!"
