Tina Ann- LOL (Miss Skinny Jeans)
First to recommend
Description
I first heard Tina Ann at the Beatstock Concert and I loved watching her perform. This song is probably the best one yet, and once you hear it, it's going to stick with you, whether you like it or not. I'm glad to see that she's getting some airplay on The Party 105.3 in NY. This particular single is a really great dance pop tune, and I expect to be hearing it in the clubs very soon.
Anybody who likes The Pussycat Dolls, Lady Gaga, Rhianna, Ashley Tisdale, or Demi Lovato will love this record!
Even though the song revolves around text-messaging and the skinny jeans that all the tweens are wearing, it's not just a single for the younger set. It will resonate with dance music fans and in those in the club scene. (via Amazon)

Volifonix- Three Good Friends

Description
What's better....pulling deeply on a pint of crisp and hoppy northwest microbrew or chilling out while funky songs about everything from parties to art & passion to positions against "the man" pulsate from your speakers?
If you answered "both" pour yourself a cold one and check out Oregonisms (topsecret records 2009) from Eugene darlings, Volifonix (aka VFX) who happen to be on tour all year and who are blissfully blessed in being fueled by the NW's newest cult beer makers; "Ninkasi Brewing Company.”
Catch a whiff of life in a northern town, Volifonix style. Mmmmm....smoove!
If you like 311, Decemberists, Silver Sun Pickups, Akron/Family, RHCP’s, Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Parliament Funkadelic, Earth Wind & Fire or Jeff Buckley, you’ll love Volifonix!

Bill Champlin - No Place Left to Fall - Lookin' for You
First to recommend
Description
Bill Champlin’s New Solo CD “No Place Left to Fall” is FANTASTIC! There are so many great tracks its hard to pick just one!
It was just announced that Bill Champlin has left the band Chicago after 28 years (!) and will be doing a solo tour later in the year to support his solo release out on August 4, called “No Place Left to Fall”. He will no doubt put on an amazing show with all this great new material.
I’ve been a fan since his earlier CHICAGO days, and an equally big admirer since the Sons of Champlin played the Fillmore West in 1970! I have all his records and this new one is LONG overdue!
“No Place Left to Fall” has an amazing list of contributors performing including: Bruce Gaitsch, George Hawkins, Jr., Billy Ward, Mark Eddinger, Steve Lukather, Peter Cetera, Michael English, Tamara Champlin, Will Champlin and Keith Howland.
Champlin has worked with Chicago for 28 years (Champlin was on lead vocals on their famous tune “Look Away”), Patti LaBelle, Lou Rawls, Elton John, Boz Scaggs, Donna Summer, Nancy Wilson, George Benson, Jimmy Smith, Amy Grant, Neil Diamond, Kenny Rogers, Jason Scheff of Chicago, and Toto’s Bobby Kimball and Joseph Williams and is in the top of the classic rock, AAA, A/C heritage artists.

Everybody Else- In Memorium
First to recommend
Description
There are few artists today that can write a record of back-to-back pop gems like Everybody Else, and even fewer with the vocal and musical chops to pull it off live. Their unusual sound demonstrates a deep sense of the history of pop music, but could not exist in any decade but this one. With their forthcoming album, producer Rick Parker (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Howl), has finally captured the spirit of their electrifying live show, marked by an energy that always seems to teeter on the edge of chaos without ever falling apart. . All great music should reflect the personalities of those making it, and anyone who sees Everybody Else live will recognize the jois de vivre shared by the three onstage.
"Happy Punk"- very upbeat. For fans of Rooney, Locksley, Hanson, Ozma, Cobra Starship, The Virgins, and any indie pop. (via Amazon)

Los Campesinos!- You! Me! Dancing!
First to recommend
Description
Celebrating a bratty, tongue-in-cheek viewpoint and a spunky indie-punk style similar to Art Brut while applying an assortment of instruments akin to Architecture in Helsinki, seven-piece group Los Campesinos! (roughly translating to "the Peasants") formed in 2006 in Cardiff, Wales. The lineup includes Aleksandra (keyboard, horn), Ellen (bass), Gareth (glockenspiel), Harriet (violin, keyboard), Neil (guitar), Ollie (drums), and Tom (guitar), with all members sharing vocals and the last name of Campesinos! The band played its first show in May 2006 and by the following August opened for Broken Social Scene. Later that year they signed to U.K. label Wichita, which released their first single in early 2007. A few months later they were added to the roster of Canadian label Arts & Crafts. That summer the band's young catalog expanded with another single from Wichita and an EP from Arts & Crafts titled Sticking Fingers into Sockets, produced by David Newfeld (Broken Social Scene). The full-length Hold on Now, Youngster... followed in early 2008. After a long tour that took up much of the year (and included a stop in Seattle to record new songs), their second full length album We are Beautiful, We are Doomed was released in November of the same year. ~ Kenyon Hopkin, All Music Guide
Spunky, upbeat indie jams that make you feel good, and far, far from anything emo. (via Amazon)

Rooney- When Did Your Heart Go Missing?

Description
Classic sounds being brought to an upbeat, rockin' level. This indie-pop jam, totally fun-filled, is typical of the underground pop-power these guys have. They're one of Southern California's best-kept secrets!
Pop-rock with a great hook! Stays with you without getting annoying!
For fans of The OC, Death Cab for Cutie, The Walkmen, Everybody Else, Locksley, The Killers.

Daryl Hall And John Oates- You Make My Dreams (Remastered)
First to recommend
Description
Though known to most as an 80's gem, this remastered track was just featured in this season's blockbuster, "500 Days of Summer". This classic rockin' tune is great for this time of year, bringing nothing to the ears but upbeat happiness. Great for cruisin' with the top down!
For fans of: Lionel Richie, Journey, Phil Collins, 500 Days of Summer (via Amazon)

Regina Spektor- Folding Chair
First to recommend
Description
Known for 2006's insanely popular "Fidelity", this hot track comes from Regina's beautiful follow-up album, "Far". The song starts out slowly, with Regina's typical lyrical genius work at hand, taking listeners into deep thinking. Before you know it, she is throwing out tongue-in-cheek metaphors while you dance and sing along to the gradually upbeat and inspirational jam. Her best work yet.
For fans of: Feist, Fiona Apple, Wilco, Lily Allen, Pete Yorn, Imogen Heap (via Amazon)

Girl Talk- Bounce That
First to recommend
Description
The infamous DJ, known to most of the world as "Girl Talk", has done it again. In this nonstop-dance track, he gives us the best of so many tracks, without having to sit through the boring, non-catchy, non-chorus parts. Girl Talk ensures that at every point in the song, you will indeed bounce that.
For fans of: Anything and everything (via Amazon)

The 88- How Good it Can Be
First to recommend
Description
First featured a few years back on the show of endless Summers, "The OC", this song deserves a comeback wherever and whenever the weather is warm, reminding you just how good it really can be. While the lyrics are cool, and smooth, that's nothing compared to the beats of the chorus which resonate with you instantly, each time bringing back the feeling of Summer and happiness.
For fans of: The OC, Rooney, Death Cab, The Thrills, Weezer, Ok Go (via Amazon)
