chuck close is cool. he's originally from the nw, just like me, but ironically i first saw his work after moving to nyc. it still astounds me, love his self portraits. go ahead, step closer - you won't believe your eyes.

Oh, Carlo. You were an architect, a fabulous furniture designer, race car enthusiast & who knew - a master of the polaroid camera. You chose to keep your pics of beautiful naked prostitutes all to yourself which made us covet them even more when they were discovered. You know what you do to us! This book is pricey but its safe to say no one else you know will have it & everyone will want it! So vintage & so cool.

vladimir kagan's fluid shapes are as fresh as ever. if you can't afford his famous chair & ottoman, at least buy the book. you'll have something to dream about!

david lachapelle makes glossy plastic images - new surrealism - in acid brights with a little paradox thrown in for good measure. my favorite is his portrait of angelina jolie. sublime.

this is the cutest little book. in 1948 old french character actor fernandel answered cultural questions with different expressions. some of them will have you laughing out loud. with full cover art, this little one looks great on the top of a stack.

this volume is chockfull of full color reproductions of some of schnabel's best work going back to the late 70's. bold, graphic type on the spine looks great on a shelf & the stock has a luxurious hand.

whether you understand him or not, this book is filled with gorgeous images. like any good book of photography it'll take you through many different emotions as you flip through the foil-blocked, textured pages. very satisfying.
