Apron (Pink Gingham ) - SUPERfantastico!
First to recommend
Description
These aprons were originally designed to hold gardening gear, but can hold many other things, i.e., cell phones, small notebooks, ipods, etc.
They are hand made using vintage fabrics. The straps are "super long", insuring a good fit for practically any size and are adjustable using a d-ring. Contact the seller if you are petite, so that they can make the necessary length adjustments to the straps.
The outer fabric is made of hand wash only silk brocade. (via superfantastico.com)

Tall Saint Francis Statue - Plow & Hearth
First to recommend
Description
I took my grandmother's St. Francis statue from her yard when she could no longer live in her house. He now rests on a private altar in my home. Sort of a strange place for the patron saint of the environment and animals, but he is no longer in the condition to remain outdoors.
The product description suggests that the statue could be used to offer birdseed, or as a quiet perch for birds in your garden. In my opinion, this is a bad idea, a he would quickly become covered in poo.
At a height of 32" he will stand above many tall garden plants. Cast resin in subtle earth tones, the statue has a hand-carved rustic look. The multi-layer finish resists wear and weather. (via plowhearth.com)

This plant signifys peace, purity and brings luck. It is believed to change the energy of the home, and is easy to care for. Three stalks arrive with a glass vase and black pebbles and long, leafy leaves.
A stylish gift for the home, office or just someone that needs a little Feng Shui in their lives. The vase measures 4.5" H. Measures overall approximately 18" H.
Bamboo plants are very long lived. I have one in my kitchen that is over 8-years old! (It's also over 36" high!) (via 1800flowers.com)

Burgundy-Tipped Jade Plant - Crassula
First to recommend
Description
The Jade plant (Crassula ovata, Crassula ovata arborenscens) is an extremely popular houseplant because it is simple to care for, and for its distinctive appearance. They are succulents, referring to their leaves being fleshy and swollen from the water they store.
Jade plants are relatively maintanence-free. Being succulents they do not need a lot of water. One sure way to kill a succulent is to overwater it. Only water when the soil is dry. Succulents are very susceptible to rot if they are left to sit in soggy soil for very long.
If you are careful about the amount of moisture you give your plant, and it gets a lot of sunlight, it may flower late in the year. On Crassula types, the flowers are small, white and star-shaped.
I just purchased two healthy Jade plants at a local Big Lots for $4 and $6 each. I just happened to find them locally first and not online, but that may not deter me from buying more rare specimens online in the future. These are great plants and hard to kill. Just how I like them. (via amazon.com)

Park Seed's Original Bio Dome Seed Starter
2 people recommended this item
Description
Now you can start flowers, vegetables and herbs indoors and save money, instead of buying started plants. You can start the varieties you want, instead of the limited choices that the local garden center has picked out.
This "mini powerhouse" from Holland is different than other seed starting kits in that the seedling grow to a uniform height and width, because of the generous spacing between growing cells. The Bio Sponge growing medium encourages root growth downward, not in an upward spiral that eventually strangles the plant.
The Bio Dome also features adjustable vents and bottom-tray watering, so that you are in control of your seedling growth environment.
Includes: The Bio Dome (green bottom tray and vented clear plastic tray), planting block, 60 Bio sponges, seedling food and complete instructions. (via parkseed.com)

SumiSoil - Lee Valley Tools
First to recommend
Description
Sumi (the Japanese word for charcoal) is the core material in these ceramic-coated, peppercorn-sized beads. Designed to be used as a soil amendment or a soil alternative, the beads have several benefits. First, each bead absorbs up to 70% of its volume in water, slowly releasing water when the soil begins to dry, extending the period between waterings. Second, they improve root aeration, used alone as a growing medium or in a potting mix. Third, seedlings grown in the beads are removed easily, avoiding damage to the root system and transplant shock. Finally, because the charcoal is activated, the beads help absorb odor.
Each 1kg (35 oz) package fills about four 4" diameter pots, or can be mixed in a ratio of one part SumiSoil to 10 parts potting medium (increase the amount of SumiSoil for plants requiring greater hydration). Suitable for both indoor and outdoor plants.
Made in Japan.
