Having been an apartment dweller for the pretty much all my life, I believe that good design and a small footprint are next to godliness.

HALLELUIA!!

This is spare, functional as lighting and as mood modifier and beautiful. It has the additional advantage of not requiring venting and so avoids the complaints of upstairs neighbors (and possibly multiples thereof) about the hole in their floor, and possibly their ceiling.

All this for a bit over $300...

I just purchased this Little Birch Jewelry Stand from Urban Outfitters this weekend, as a way of helping to organize my massive jewelry collection. It actually doesn't hold as many pieces as I'd hoped, but if you pile them on, it stands up to the challenge. I picked this jewelry stand in particular because it looks more like a work of art than a functional item - definitely a winner at a good price, too.
