About this list:
Toys do not discriminate. They know not how young or old you are. They won't even divulge your deepest, darkest secrets. All they really want is to get off the shelf and into the hands of someone who wants to play. So, go ahead: pick up a toy or game that sparks your imagination . . . or one that used to not so very long ago. Here are a few I have recently stumbled upon.
Qualifications:
I am just a little girl in a big girl outfit.

Amazon: Free to Be...You and Me by Marlo Thomas and Friends - 35th Anniversary Edition
First to recommend
Description
My cousin Katie (although she was too young to realize she had done so) first introduced me to this book. I already knew and loved the "That Girl" Marlo, who strode down a city street in go-go boots; spun around in glee; and threw her hat in the air at the beginning of each episode. She embodied freedom, it seemed to me then . . . and now, as she re-introduces her book to a world still struggling to deal with all the different ways both girls and boys, men and women express themselves. Adding more contributors to her merry tribe of singers, writers, poets and comedians, Marlo Thomas' book is now bigger, better and perhaps even more relevant today. And wouldn't it be great if the first one who smiled really did win?! Good gifting.
