I got one of these in my Maven welcome pack and wondered what exactly I'd do with it. *Talk about a lapse in reason* I'm a writer, a reporter. I have to write stuff down, and this thing fits perfectly (and neatly) into many small purses. Even a good clutch. Added coolness bonus: a very stylish and highly accessorized creative director that I know has one on him at all times.

I was disheartened after a trip to the Neiman Marcus Last Call in search of designer denim. Everything from 7 for All Mankind to True Religion to Rock & Republic was MARKED DOWN to $165. I sought solace at Overstock, where I found a pair of Blue Cult jeans for $54. I hadn't even heard of Aristocrat denim but the style was fresh and the price was right ($49). A quick google search has informed me that I hit a major come up on a pair of $200 jeans. *SWEET*

I was seduced into these yesterday by the chick in the store. I didn't think that I'd be attracted to shoes with such a thick heel but the cut out detail, knot and peep toe drew me all in. Tried them on an it was CURTAINS. They are sky high.

A funny thing happened in Target as I was looking for gold flip flips. I walked past these shoes and stopped. I stared, I thought, and finally I tried them. Believe it or not they look great on. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?! Nothing against my favorite discount haven's clothing and shoe selection, but that stuff photographs much better than it looks in person. Even those sexy designer joints that make you want to flock (read: Rafe, Bottkier, Thakoon) aren't AS sexy rendered in plasticy vinyl instead of leather. *meh* But these made the cut. Actually, they look better in person!

I just got hold of this today and it is the coolest thing EVAR. I've been saying for years that I needed a "party pak" (read: a flask) and this is a decent size that can fit in a normal-sized purse.

It's kind of masculine-looking so I am deciding on if I should horde this for myself or give it to my boyfriend. *hmmm*
