Beaches, self-titled album

Description
Beaches are an all woman guitar-driven band from Melbourne.
Their debut album recalls Television's "Marquee Moon" with its sweet guitar tones.
“Beaches craft psychedelic music in its prototypical jamming guise; lush kaleidoscopic aural landscapes where every glance reveals something old, something new, something weird and something pretty fucking fantastic.” - BEAT (Album of the Week)

Electron Suite, album by Mountains in the Sky
First to recommend
Description
Mountains in the Sky is a sweeping name for a one man band. This studio project knows how to work a stage though, and has produced some great performances with other solo projects Qua and Caribou.
This album moves from atmospheric to hyped, with bleeps and tweets fluttering around in the pounding mix.

Teenage Snuff Film, album by Rowland S. Howard
First to recommend
Description
This solo album by Rowland S. Howard was released in 1999. All Music describes it as "it's a long, roiling howl of pain, wrought from the place where rock & roll loss and grief meet blues textures and near-gothic soundscapes" but all I know is it's raw and tender and speaks to me.
Rowland was a founding member of The Birthday Party, The Bad Seeds, Crime and the City Solution, and These Immortal Souls, and has collaborated with artists as diverse as Lydia Lunch, Nikki Sudden, Kas Produkt, Barry Adamson, Einstürzende Neubauten, Jeffrey Lee Pierce, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Henry Rollins.

Dirt, album by The Stabs

Description
Since falling into the scene in 2003, they have brought a volatile wreck of rock madness to their live gigs. This energy is captured in its filthy glory on this album.
Stand back, don't mess with The Stabs.

seven songs :: album by fabulous diamonds

Description
Fabulous Diamonds are Nisa Venerosa and Jarrod Zlatic.
Are they pop minimalist, post punk, experimental, avant garde, or all-of-the-above? Labelling Fabulous Diamonds is tricky, but oh so fun, just like listening to this album.
Tracks on this album are simply referred to by length, but many have developed nicknames. Like song "1:49" or "Whiskey Soda".
This is the prescription for bored ear drums. (via Three Thousand)

The Ruby Suns, self-titled album

Description
This is the debut release from the little New Zealand band that could, The Ruby Suns.
Expect lots of cheery harmonies, and warm pop sounds.
MOJO compared their sound to artier moments by The Zombies and The Shins.
I probably just like it for the zebras. (via Memphis Industries)
