Description
What can I say about this film other than wow! Its my favourite film... ever!
5 versions of the film with the fab documentary "Dangerous Days"... fab!
"Celebrating the 25th anniversary of iconic sci-fi masterpiece Blade Runner, the 5-Disc Ultimate Collectors' Edition is the definitive Blade Runner collection. Packaged in a lenticular collectible tin with art cards and even a letter from director Ridley Scott, the Collectors' Edition brings together for the first time all five versions of the film, including Blade Runner: The Final Cut, which saw Ridley Scott go back into post production to create the long-awaited definitive version of the classic film.
The 5-Disc Ultimate Collectors' Edition also includes an entire disc with hours of enhanced content, including new featurettes and galleries devoted to more than 45 minutes of deleted and alternate scenes recently discovered in deep storage and approved by Ridley Scott. There is also background on author Philip K. Dick, script development, abandoned sequences, conceptual design, anaylsis of the overall impact of the film and how it lead to the birth of cyberpunk.
Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Edward James Olmos, Joanna Cassidy, Sean Young and Daryl Hannah are among some 80 stars, filmmakers and others who participate in the extensive bonus features. Among the highlights is "Dangerous Days", a brand new, feature-length documentary by award-winning DVD producer Charles de Lauzirika, with an extensive look into every aspect of Blade Runner: its literary genesis, its challenging production and its controversial legacy. The definitive documentary to accompany the definitive film collection."

Description
I bought the latest album by Anthony Gonzalez aka M83 because I had heard some good buzz and I already own M83's 2nd and 3rd albums. I was unexpectedly given a $10 iTunes gift certificate from ThisNext and checked it out.
Recorded with Ken Thomas (Sigur Ros, Sugar Cubes, Cocteau Twins, Suede) and Ewan Pearson (Tracey Thorn, The Rapture, Ladytron) "Saturdays = Youth" retains the sonic "wall of sound" atmospherics of previous work... but the soundscapes seem more focussed... and more mature... which is kind of ironic considering "youth" is the subject matter.
Vocals are haunting and ethereal... with some trademark spoken word from a young girl that is disturbing in a nice way. There is a real 80's vibe about the songwriting... with tracks like "Graveyard Girl" and "Couleurs" standing out as exceptional.
This is the sound of now... something special... something immersive and inviting... something rich and yet delicate.
A wonderful album... well worth checking out.
Thanks for the gift... money well spent!

Rosebud by Winona [new project from Craig Armstrong]

Description
Sometimes albums don't live up to the hype or the expectations built up from previous releases. Sometimes... just sometimes... expectations can be exceeded.
The new album from Craig Armstrong is one such album... exceeding all expectations and living up to the already strong body of work he has amassed.
Very electro... with a "Human League" feel to it... this is the sound of now... and I love it. Essential for anyone who loves upbeat electro with haunting female vocals. Sweet.

Sensuous by Cornelius

Description
Picked this album up earlier this week and I absolutely love it. It is sonically diverse... ranging from the delicate to the relentless. The beats and syncopation are immaculate... with vocals from Cornelius and, on one song, the chaps from "Kings of Convenience".
Truly an amazing album... and a fab follow up to "Point".

A lovely piece of ambient electronica that stands up today as timeless... 24 years after it was made. Forget the silly vocal track and just sit back... relax... and soak in this essential album.
