Pretty on the Outside: Unique Ways to Wrap Gifts - a list by tatorandtots

Options for This Page

About this list:

Traditional wrapping paper is fine. But it serves to disguise, not entertain. Presents often spend weeks poking out from under the tree- why not make them tease and taunt while they're waiting? Attach novelties like fake mustaches, funky stickers, notepads or printed-up folding paper toys, use great cards, give jewelry (and a loupe!) tucked into the cardboard in a roll of designer toilet paper, try garland not ribbon, roll a tie into a Troll glass and use boxes that will serve a purpose later!

F ckface Teacup and Saucer

First to recommend

Description

For a FABULOUS holiday gift or office Secret Santa present, get an entertaining and unique teacup and saucer (or mug) and fill it with tea and coffee tchotskes (mini-creamers, vanilla-flavored Splenda tubes, chocolate-dipped stirring spoons, gourmet teas and coffee pouches....even a mini-bar sized bottle of Baileys) and then wrap it all up in clear cellophane with funky ribbons. I want one!

I think this exact one sold already but there are many more to choose from on trixiedelicious's most awesome Etsy site.

Aluminum Version Of Terra Cotta Pots

2 people recommended this item

Description

I LOVE these pots and love the price even more. They have so many uses- fill them with colorful jewel-toned balls as tabletop decor, make a "S'mores" or "Winter Warm-Up" kit by tucking applicable gourmet treats and accessories in each and present it as a set, give them to little girls to use in magical "pretend" gardens during make-believe play (don't they look like the pots you would see in a princess's garden?) or roll up tshirts and cluster all of the cotton tubes into a pot to give a teenager.

Get your hands on some gorgeous ribbons and thick, shiny clear cellophane and have it on hand with these pots. When you need to wrap anything that will fit, you'll have a gorgeous way to present it!

I can't wait until these are back in stock! (via Evangelista)

Lesbo Plate (for XMas Cookies?)

First to recommend

Description

Consider a supercool plate as the foundation for this year's holiday cookie gifts. Once the gourmet treats are gone, your recipient will have something fabulous to remember your gesture by....

Trixiedelicious's Etsy shop has been one of my indulgences of late. I keep popping over and picking up a plate or two, some teacups.... the collection is growing. It's a fabulous hostess or birthday gift and would make a really unique holiday present for someone you know with a sense of humour. Think of making a gift basket with winter warm-ups and a tongue-in-cheek item or two from this shop. Sure to be a hit.

Baekgaard Mini Jewelry Box - Style-Boutique

Description

Consider printing up a handful or two of "mini-pictures" by putting tiny versions of favorite shots on one sheet of glossy photo paper, then cutting them into little rectangles.

Or for a really unique kid's gift, do the same for works of art and present a box of mini-masterpieces to "hang" in a Barbie house!

from the site: "The sensible (and chic) way to nestle your most precious gems. Styled with two compartments and a mirror."

3.25in. x 2in. x 3.25in.

Serving Tagine

Description

Looking for a unique gift? Find a cool ethnic kitchen item and fill it up with the exotic spices and fixin's needed to make a meal for two. Wrap it all up in clear cellophane and ribbons and you'll have an internationally themed gift basket to satisfy cravings!

Unlike the traditional clay tagines that can be cooked in, these beautiful varieties are meant for serving food only. The good news, though, is that they are dishwasher safe.
