Pretty on the Outside: Unique Ways to Wrap Gifts - a list by tatorandtots
Options for This Page
About this list:
Traditional wrapping paper is fine. But it serves to disguise, not entertain. Presents often spend weeks poking out from under the tree- why not make them tease and taunt while they're waiting? Attach novelties like fake mustaches, funky stickers, notepads or printed-up folding paper toys, use great cards, give jewelry (and a loupe!) tucked into the cardboard in a roll of designer toilet paper, try garland not ribbon, roll a tie into a Troll glass and use boxes that will serve a purpose later!

I know, I'm a broken record when it comes to my praise for random bits of nonsense at parties. But it WORKS. I swear.
So think of these if you're throwing a 40th birthday party for someone, for example. A do-it-yourself tattoo station is always a hit. Expect it to be "the" hangout about two hours after people first hit your bar area. A big hit.
Or at the holidays, do you find yourself looking for a stocking stuffer grandma and grandpa haven't seen before? Chances are this one will fit the bill. I LOVE the pillbox one.
Not to make it all about me and my bad knees (14 years of Irish dancing lessons FOR WHAT?? FOR WHAT I ask you??), but when I first saw the arthritis tat I immediately knew where on my (hidden for modesty) I'd put it.

JunkMail Greetings ::: {say something}
Oh how I love this site. You just have to flip through the various greetings. You will laugh out loud.
"I admire your low standards."
"Good luck with that."
"And to think your mother said you'd never amount to anything."
"It's not me. It's you."
Just to name a few....

"Oh Pool Boy".... "Back on the Market".... "Call Me" Cocktail Napkins

Description
I pride myself on my ability to make people aspirate cocktails and shoot them out their noses. It's fun and free entertainment for the whole crowd.
Best of all, I've found that it's easy to accomplish by simply accessorizing your soiree well- a few funny napkins can go- and make liquid fly- a long way.
Such are these little delights. "Oh Pool Boy, I'll have another...." Come on, that's just funny. And the "Call Me ( ) .......-........." does double duty as witty AND practical. "Back on the Market" is clever as well.... let's ya be naughty but in a Republican way- ie having something else to blame, albeit something as innocuous as a napkin. (Sorry Elephants, just a little Donkey humor there.)

6ft Antique Multicolor Glass Ball Garland

Description
I've scooped up a few artificial trees over the years at post-XMas sales. Instead of letting them just sit in the garage, I've taken to decorating a tree in each of the kids' rooms. Not only does it help saturate the house with holiday warmth, but it led to yet another tradition- collecting individual ornaments for each of them that represent what they were "into" that particular year- ie hobbies, music, etc. Those will be a great keepsake when they have homes of their own.
This garland would be so cute on a little girl's tree, don't you think?

artyfakt is an Etsy seller with a great idea: turn album covers into boxes to store your LPs. While my Duran Duran records may show a bit of erosion in strategic places due to a few decades of giving them some Fiona lovin' (FYI most damage occurs in or around John Taylor, the bass player), they are still treasures to me. Now I have found a suitable home for them. Yahoo.
