Apple iPod shuffle

Description
The iPod Nano is great and all, but running with it on an armband or in a pocket just isn't practical for me.
That's why the Shuffle is the perfect choice for training. Load up your running mix and clip it onto your shirt, shorts, wherever. It's not like you're going to stop and look to see what band's playing or try to find a certain song on your 10-mile run - if you don't like what's playing, you'll just skip to the next one.

Women's Nike L/S Base Layer 1/2 Zip
First to recommend
Description
I think Nike makes the best running tops, particularly long sleeve.
This half-zip is a great base layer, but I tend to slip it over a tank so I can shed it when I'm all warmed up. It's long enough to cover my longer torso so I don't have to pull it down every 10 paces.
What I am crazy about, though, is the mesh back. It helps keep you cool and ventilated, but it also makes the shirt extremely lightweight, so if you end up tying it around your waist, it won't weigh you down (or pull your pants down, either). It's made of a performance fabric to wick away moisture.

Under Armour | Women's HeatGear Premiere 1 | 1001116

Description
A great, high support running bra for those of us who are a little less well-endowed on top.
Extra padding on the tops of the shoulders is what does it for me - somehow this ingenious idea makes running a lot more comfortable for me. It also features Under Armour's HeatGear technology, designed to wick sweat away from your body so you stay comfortable.
Reinforced stitching means this bra is meant to last, too.

Description
A great little pick-me-up for runs when you feel like you're lagging. Need an extra jolt to get you through the last five miles of your training run? Gulp down one of these suckers! My favorite is vanilla bean.

Mizuno Wave Creation - Womens Running Shoes

Description
Simply the best running shoes for neutral runners who like just a bit of cushioning. Wave Creations are designed for long-distance runs, and once you do a run in these shoes, you won't think of using any other brand.
I'm on my fourth generation of these shoes, having run a half marathon, five 10Ks and countless training runs in them.

REI OXT Fitness Pants - Women's
First to recommend
Description
These pants are designed for cooler weather, so they're made of a heavier stretch knit. Working out when it's chilly is a whole lot easier, but this thicker construction is also flattering and, more importantly, forgiving.
The wide waistband and slight flare means these have a bit of style, too - you can feel ok wearing them after your workout or even on the weekends. An exterior side zip pocket gives you a safe place for keys, cash, or a credit card.

Dog Toys that are Worth It
Updated Jan 27, 2008
Sick of dog toys that don't last 20 minutes? These toys are "lab"-tested and ready to stand up to hours of "ruff" play! Ha!
