About this list:
I guess I'm drawn toward all of the weird and bizarre things one can now find easily, especially on the internet. I am also fascinated by freaks, kooks, and crazies...and also afraid of them. I'll be putting any and all weird and unusual crap I come across here.

Typewriter Monster Mask
First to recommend
Description
Artist Jeremy Meyer created various sculptures and masks using the typewriter as inspiration, and the results are clever and should delight writers everywhere, at least those that remember the typewriter. This is the face of writer's block! (via Gizmodo via Wired)

Kooks: A Guide to the Outer Limits of Human Belief by Donna Kossy
First to recommend
Description
I first came across this book years ago, and recently found a copy for myself, and it was as good as I remembered it. It's full of interesting and loony organizations, cults, conspiracy theorists, and otherwise nutty folks and their crackpot theories. Apocalyptic and messianic cults, weird science like the "Archive of Useless Research," UFO's and their true-believers, like the Raelians...you name it, and someone not only believed it, but convinced others to do the same. When you read it, it won't be about whether you believe any of these, well, kooks or not, but whether you can believe that anyone ever did.

Because nothing says CREEPY quite like a decapitated animatronic chimp head sitting in your living room. It comes with a remote, so you can be sure to chase off the next date you manage to get to come home with you. WowWee indeed.

Description
A classic of B-horror cinema, and a truly creepy tale starring many real-life circus freaks. Of course it's exploitational! How else can you get microcephalics in your movie? You'll be haunted by the chant of "One of us! One of us!" Or, you'll just repeat it in any halfway appropriate context...for the rest of your life.

Glass Eye Book Set
First to recommend
Description
826 Valencia in San Francisco always has delightful, if thoroughly useless, curios and curiosities for sale. This "Glass Eye" book set combines clever and humorous packaging with, yes, a glass eye available in a number of colors and a "wee" book that tells the story of "your glass eye's multiple and sundry prosthetic cousins." Absolutely useless, but a hell of a conversation piece.

Bed Bug Kit Professional

Description
Bed bugs are on the rise, and one look at some pictures of the little blood-sucking parasites is enough to let you know you don't want them. They're also notoriously difficult to get rid of, but this kit has a lot of products that might help, if you're really into DIY. Me, I'd call an exterminator. I don't have bedbugs, but if you've been doing things like, um, letting homeless people share your bed, then maybe this product will come in handy. ;-P

JT Eaton Bedbugs Spray
First to recommend
Description
This stuff might be good to prevent the little buggers coming back, once you have the infestation under control...just hit any suspected hiding spot, or possible carrier, with a liberal half-dozen pumps from this. Spray down any visitors to your home, too, and if they complain, just explain that a little poisoning is the price to be paid for good company.

Most decorator art that I see on people's walls are shiny posters from boring exhibitions, or dirt-common impressionist prints...

I'm not good at much, but I've pretty much mastered the art of lifting a drink to my lips. Over the years, I've become more...
