The latest act to be touted "The Best New Band in Britain", The Twang blends rock and dance beats like the Happy Mondays, the Stone Roses and Kasabian before them. But the charm in this band lies in that they're a bunch of mates who are clearly overjoyed with their success.

Simple, but brilliant. An iconic lyric (ranging from John Lennon to Amy Winehouse) printed in a complimentary style and framed for hanging. What music fan wouldn't go nuts for one of these?

Canadian/British electro-pop band Dragonette have been tipped by many as ones to watch in 2007. Their music isn't terribly original but frontwoman Martina Sorbara is so chockfull of charisma, sex appeal, chutzpah, determination and intelligence this band has "IT" unquestionably - try to explain it, I dare you! The buzz about Dragonette and their first two addictive singles "I Get Around" and "Take It Like A Man" have won them a growing fan base which will only get bigger when their first full-length CD is scheduled for release in August 2007. Call me strange, but I get a kick out of dying my hair simply because rinsing it out makes my tub look like the tub from Psycho... Now I can get that wee thrill every morning! Plus it smells much yummier and leaves me feeling all squeaky clean. Yay!

The main reason British chocolate is better than North American chocolate is because in the UK it's made with cream, not milk. Not that big a deal, you say? Try a KitKat bar from the UK and then tell me that!
I discovered this drinking chocolate at the British Isles Show (held every year in Toronto) and I don't think I'll ever go back to regular store-bought hot chocolate. It is unbelievably rich, creamy and tastes more like you melted chunks of Swiss chocolate in fresh milk, stirring until perfectly smooth. THIS is what hot chocolate should taste like!

Deservedly, Mika's first single "Grace Kelly" is being imprinted on the brains of the public by savvy media types like the British press and Perez Hilton. Mika's operatic falsetto is gloriously over-the-top and with that alone he stands out far above the rest of pop music on the radio today. With his playful sound, in-your-face exuberance and ear for catchy hooks, Mika's songs are on the path to being those you hum without realising it.
It's only available as an import in North America at the moment, but I say it's worth it to tell your friends you heard of it long before the radio stations played it to death! (via mikasounds.com)

It combines the jangly punk of The Jam, the sophisti-pop intellectualism of The Style Council, and the effortless soulfulness of Paul Weller's solo work. He's a masterful songwriter, an unbelievable musican, has one of the most compelling voices you'll ever hear and at the age of 48 is still the absolute epitome of cool. I didn't think anything could beat Kiehl's lip balm, but of course Lush would with their yummy, yummy, yummy Whip Stick. Only Lush would think of putting something that smells like chocolate directly below your nose! It's not only made with chocolate but it's also jam-packed with shea and cocoa butter to keep your lips soft and smooth. Plus they generously fill the tin so it lasts for ages and like many of Lush's products, you can use it in more than one way (try it on rough elbows and knees, cuticles and chapped knuckles).
