Our top gifts under £10 for credit crunch giving - a list by PresentsQueen

About this list:

Okay, Christmas 2008 is tough, but for those who celebrate it it will still arrive on December 25th. So we have been hunting down our favourite gift options for less cash, that still meet the ProblemPresents.com ethos of interesting, thoughtful, slightly quirky and unusual. Lack of cash does not equate to lack of imagination, so no reason for Christmas to be dull and look like a trolley dash around the high street on Christmas Eve

Qualifications:

Worn out virtual shoe leather from the virtual high street

Enchanted DVD

3 people recommended this item

Description

Choose a DVD that all the family can watch, in the spirit of Christmas family get togethers. And there are so many under £10, even under £5 (this was £4.99 and delivery was free) that you could keep everyone happy. If The Great Escape isn't on, then get it delivered, likewise Miracle on 34th Street.

Why let the BBC decide your Christmas TV schedule? You can wallow in nostalgia together or choose something new!

Techno Robot - Hawkins Bazaar

First to recommend

Description

Hawkin's Bazaar is a bit of a British institution, but can always be relied upon for two things: gifts that are hard to find anywhere else under one roof and prices that range from 49p up to £60. They are also stockists of stuff that will give Christmas Day distraction (i.e. possibly buy someone some quiet time). We love this build it yourself robot, which will keep kids and Dads, Uncles and other big boys quiet for a bit.

Priced at £9.99 (plus you'll need 2 AA batteries) but the peace and quiet is priceless!

grandpa's firefork by hunter gatherer

First to recommend

Description

notonthehighstreet.com is one of my favourite sites - we recommend them a lot over on ProblemPresents.com. Their name does what it says on the tin: brings together amazing things from small producers all around the UK and delivers it to you, stuff that you won't find everywhere. Perfect!

And they have stuff for every budget. Yes, they have lots of things that several hundred pounds. And they have lots of stuff that isn't.

Like this firefork - perfect for an outdoor guy or a guy who likes to barbecue. Or just likes gadgets!

And it's just £4.50!

Beautiful pants from BeCheeky

First to recommend

Description

Lingerie can be a beautiful gift (although one with many pitfalls, which is why we wrote our men's guide to buying lingerie). And it doesn't have to be expensive, or pants!

Be Cheeky have a great range, and right now they have beautiful pants starting at just £4.68. So the credit crunch has crunched prices, but not style!

What could be a better credit crunch Christmas gift than a quarter of sweets from your childhood or a big bag of penny mixes. Well, you can get it all here!

Just Miniatures

First to recommend

Description

A little drop of what you fancy! Rather than buy them a big bottle of something not quite so good, treat them to a mini bottle of their favourite good stuff. You know what it's like, if you love Jack Daniels the Tesco one is never going to taste quite so good! So do it in minature in style!

The National Lottery

First to recommend

Description

This could be one way of turning £1 into the best Christmas gift they ever had! Not to mention a few minutes of hope each week! If you want to spend a tenner, you could blow it all on 10 lines for 1 night, or 1 line for 10 weeks, and spread the hope!
