Geek Chic - a list by ASewell

About this list:

Okay, so I don't dress like a runway model, and my t-shirts reference scientific ideas, indie films and comic book characters. There is a style there...*ahem*... Whether it's chic or not, well...that's open to discussion. I guess.

Felix t-shirt

First to recommend

Description

I have long been a fan of the old and extremely trippy Felix the Cat cartoons. So I don't mind representing him on my gear. Especially, a mischievious-looking Felix and crossbones. I don't often say it, but this shirt is "sweet". (via crazydogtshirts.com)

Glow in the dark t-shirt (Come to the dark side)

3 people recommended this item

Description

This t-shirt appeals to me because of the silly and somewhat "dark" side of my personality. Sometimes I think that all it would take to bring certain individuals over to your side of an issue is a cute girl (woman) in a form-fitting t-shirt with a plate of cookies. Not even good ones. A-TEAM T-Shirt

Description

I saw this - it cracked me up! I'm ashamed to say it, but when this show was on during the 80's, I did not miss an episode. Mr. T and Mad Dog Murddock were my favorite characters. Anyway, I would wear this because the show it so damned hilarious and out of sheer nostalgia. And wouldn't it be cool if you had a problem, and no one could help - that you could call...lol...you know. (via crazydogshirts.com)

I used to loathe Stacy and Clinton but now I love them and What Not to Wear. They really give solid advice and make people feel good (after tearing them apart.) I am going to stop by the bookstore today to pick up a copy.

DON'T HIT KIDS THEY HAVE GUNS NOW T-Shirt

First to recommend

Description

I saw the very top of this t-shirt and didn't get it. Upon reading the entire message, I laughed out loud! I'm sorry, I do have a rather dark sense of humor, but this is funny...and true. I'd wear this one. (via roadkilltshirts.com)

Women's: You Make Jesus Cry T-shirt (black)

First to recommend

Description

I'm very choosy about the types of things that I will wear on a t-shirt. This pretty much cracked me up. To all of the bogus Christians out there that do not practice what they preach. This t-shirt is for you! They make me want to cry, too. Actually they are more irritating than saddening, but that's the stuff for another rant. (via onehorseshy.com)

Secret Muslim T-shirt (premium)

First to recommend

Description

I though that this t-shirt was pretty funny. Barrack Obama has been called everything from a "Secret Muslim", to the Antichrist by his fellow Americans. The scary thing is that they are very serious in their accertations. Anyway, this is a humorous way to address that ridiculousness. I mean, damn, the guy is simply a politician. Ugg Coquette

First to recommend

Description

I found these in black at Zappos.com and since I had a discount coming due to a previous order, I bought them. I immediately washed my feet and slipped them on and oh am I impressed! The sheer comfort and softness is amazing! I have always looked at Uggs and because most styles aren't particularly my thing, I have easily passed them up. Also, the price instantly turned me off. However, the Coquette at less than $100, for inside or outside wear gave me pause as a slipper/casual for late Fall and Winter. I'm glad I gave them a chance! You should, too! (I bought the waterproofing spray, too.) (via zappos.com)

Meadowlark's Skull pendant

Description

This one is different from the others I've seen because the skull is actually on the chain as opposed to dangling from it on a bail. Meadowlark is a jewelery store in new zealand thathas lots of fun goth and baroque type jewelry.

MARTIN MARGIELA barbed wire necklace

2 people recommended this item

Description

I love sterling silver, and the idea of wearing barbed wired around my neck for ornamentation appeals to me. Especially, the controlled, painless and shiny sort of barbed wire that this designer is offering.
