Coco Fiber Pucks
First to recommend
Description
Coco fiber(Coir) will boost the moisture capacity of soil. The husk of the coconut is a natural sponge-like material that is easy to handle and long lasting. Coco fiber is an environmentally friendly alternative to peat moss. Coco fiber loosens clay soils and encourages strong root development. It has a soft fibrous texture that takes 5 years to break down, and it does not form a crust when it dries out. Coir can also help prevent runoff and erosion. As Coir soaks up water, it prevents nutrients from washing away. Soil that's saturated with water will even resist cracking, so coir can even prevent foundation damage.
Coco Fiber is an excellent way to increase the water absorbing power of potting soil, while also protecting against harmful bacteria and promoting organic farming. These coco fiber soil amendments are widely used for hydroponics, soil mixes, and container planting.
Coco fiber is also an excellent additive for your composter. It's water absorbing properties will keep your compost moist while at the same time soak up any excessive water. 100% Organic!
Each wafer of Coco Fiber weighs 3.7 ounces and makes 2 quarts of potting soil. (via http://www.greennationgardens.com)

Praying Mantis Egg Casings, Organic Gardening
First to recommend
Description
Special Note: Praying Mantis Egg Casings are cultivated from mid January to the beginning of June. Many deliveries are scheduled during the off season. If you would like to purchase the highest quality Praying Mantis Egg Casings, please do so now.
The Praying Mantis, because of its appearance and attitudes, is a fascinating insect. It is strictly carnivorous and feeds on almost any insect of a size it can overcome. Praying mantis egg casings are harvested in their natural environment. The female deposits her eggs in the fall in a frothy secretion that hardens and protects them from predators and severe winter climates. The praying mantis egg casings are attached to twigs, leaves, fences, etc. and may contain 50 to 400 eggs with an average of about 200 praying mantis eggs in each casing.
Upon hatching in the spring the young crawl from between tiny flaps in the casing and hang from silken threads about two inches below the casing. The young praying mantis disperses from the casings into the vegetation leaving little evidence of their appearance. This happens within an hour or two and it is very difficult to know hatching has occurred unless the elusive, well-camouflaged young praying mantis is found. The Praying Mantis is a must for organic gardening! Available in 3, 7 & 14 Casings.
*3 egg casings cover an area up to 5,000 square feet.
