Looking for a cool treat? Try Bubble Tea... the trendiest drink in the U.S.A. right now. It comes from Asia and is a delicious combination of sweetened tea , milk and ice with "bubbles." The bubbles are soft little gummy balls of tapioca that typically float to the bottom. The balls or "pearls" are larger than those found in tapioca pudding (about 7 mil). The first time you drink this concoction it's a little strange, I admit, but one drink and you are hooked. The tea is cool (you drink it cold), creamy and has a wide array of flavors. Flavors include lychee, sour apple, honeydew, passion fruit, bananna and others. And as you sip (from the wide straw) you can also slurp up the tapioca "bubbles" otherwise known as "pearls" which results in a "sip and chew." Bubble tea can be found at most malls, many cafes ... and you can make it at home. (via Cathy)
