Woah. Fair Trade Judaica that is super cool and modern! Yay! This ceramic seder plate is called the AfroZen and is made by a group of hearing impaired potters in South Africa. I don't know where to purchase it yet but I'm trying to get them on ModernTribe.com. (via African Home)

Jewish Star (Origami) Placemats by modern-twist

One of the most important aspects of my "job" is finding cool Jewish gifts and stuff that isn't marketed as being Judiac or Jewish. Today I found these six-pointed "Jewish Star" placemats at Modern-Twist. They manufacture silicone placemats and coasters which can simply be wiped down and never require laundering or ironing. Michael Aram's Tree Serving Plate -- Add ramekins and use it as a seder plate

I went into the Michael Aram showroom and asked if they have a seder plate. This is what they showed me -- nothing seder plate about it except that it is round. It also coordinates with their tree of life line of Judaica. But, truly, it's a great idea -- simply add ramekins to create a seder plate. Use it for a serving plate all year long. I love this woman's work. It is in sterling silver and very expensive so we don't stock it on ModernTribe yet. But it is lovely!

Dwell Studio T320-11-04 - Saffron / Major Brown Essex Table Runner - Set of Two

Description

Dwell Studio's linens are my current favorite. They are expensive but well-made and on target style-wise. They have a line of table runners too -- some of them meant to go horizontally across the table instead of vertically down it -- which is very European and I love it. (via Bedding and More)
