Aquaovo
3 people recommended this item
Description
The hassle with water dispensers is that you have to give your arm and then your leg to poland springs every month just to get filtered water. In my case, I purchased a cute little refridgerator dispenser to keep refilling the 5 gallon bottle. Sure, I spend 2 hours once a month pumping water into a plastic can. But at least I'm not losing to the man.
But Aquaovo is GEORGEOUS. And it has a built in filter. Wonder of wonders. It's a perfect compliment to my Frank Lloyd Wright house. I will pick this up shortly and live among the forest creatures because I have lots of money and don't need to worry about real life.
...seriously though, someone buy this piece for me because - at $750 - it's way too expensive for me to even consider.

I MUST have this! How flippin' awesome. Never have I thought a fruit bowl could excite me! When one lives an artful life, it brings such elation when everyday things are re-invented - not only logically, but creatively.
I can't figure out if these are for sale, because they wer designed by an internship program for Product Development and Industrial Design

Cedar Sake Cups

Description
Sake is meant to be drank from wood cups. And these are just great looking. Imagine the smell of fresh cut wood as you gulp the warm sake down. It's good. And these are pretty cheap at $35!

Wood Placemats

Description
Get back to nature in your home wherever you can. That's part of my movement. My eco-homeification movement. Of course it doesn't really have anything to do with living 'green' per-se. More just a statement of philosophy. And these wooden placemats fit right in without cramping my design sensibilities.

World Map Placemats

Description
First of all, I like the idea of adults accepting and indulging in paper placement sets. These, however, take that oddity and turns it into utter perfection. Every meal, you'll have the opportunity to explore a new country through its map.

Chilewich Woven Lattice Tablemats

Description
Chilewich is widely known for their innovative textures. I first came across these in the MoMA (museum of modern art) store and have wanted them ever since. Their understated elegance lends them use for both casual and more formal affairs of the home.

Hola Ola
3 people recommended this item
Description
HolaOla No1 is a pre-molded soft silicone pot that seems to sort of do for pouring stuff what the ipod did for listening to stuff. Its a product that makes you wonder why you weren't always storing and pouring stuff in this way. Its just a smart, highly usable design for a basic need that solves one of the issues we always run into while cooking- its just annoying opening and closing containers all the time.
Its simple. And it only takes one hand. You squeeze, it opens, you fill it, you release the pressure, it closes. You need it? Squeeze it, it opens, a little shake and it pours, release it and it closes again.
And its only $12!!

Sorapot

Description
I like tea as much as the next guy but you have to REALLY like tea to purchase this teapot...that or an uber-design fan. This version will run you $250 without tea. You can get a "cheaper" version for $50 less but if you're going to buy something like this, you might as well go whole hog.

Your drink will taste a little stronger in these tumblers made from a unique combo of real concrete and glass. Great for any mixed drinks or just plain ol' water. Scotch on the rocks just seems so fitting for them!

Bullet Ice Cube Tray - AK Ice Tray
18 people recommended this item
Description
Novelty ice cubes are a cool addition to any cocktail party or entertaining occasion. When I first saw these, I had a good laugh and thought that would be hilarious floating about in someone's vodka and tonic or iced tea. Killer!
The only thing about these types of ice trays is that its a bit of a trick to get them into the freezer without water going everywhere. Then, getting the cubes out without destroying your "art" can be tricky as well.
