About this list:

New to the professional world? Me too. :) Sometimes it's hard to strike a balance between what you want to wear and what you think you should wear to the office - or, a law firm, in my case. Here are a few ideas for what works - and probably a few things that would work in a limitless budget world. But a girl has to dream, doesn't she? (PS - big thanks to my wonderful cousin, JamieM, for teaching me how to use this! Hope I make you proud!)

Theory Combo Knit Skirt - Looks

First to recommend

Description

There are some out there who are of the opinion that women should still be all about skirt suits in professional settings. While you don't have to buy into that, this skirt should be perfect to satisfy the old school and new school.

Description

Am such a fan of this color! The heel is perfect for the office - tall enough, but won't kill your feet while standing. And the color brings a little something extra to the black suit.

Jill Stuart Handbags Noho Victoria Tote

Description

Looking to bring work home in a conservative, yet cute, tote? Good luck - it's near impossible to find the elusive perfect bag. This one, however, does a pretty good job of being cute and functional - if only it had a shoulder strap...sigh.

Brooks Brothers | Women | Our Miracle Non-Iron Shirts

Description

This is for the more practical among us. One of my friends from law school swears by these shirts, and says they're the only things that got her through her first job. They're non-iron - so throw 'em in the dryer, and they'll come out as though you sent them to the dry cleaner. Leaving you more money to spend on your Starbucks.

This jacket is perfect - either to complete a suit with a matching skirt or pair of pants, or can be thrown on top of a dress to business up what would normally be more casual.
