Description

Kind of hard to avoid the idea that this is a straightforward update on Pet Sounds-era Brian Wilson--or that listening to High Llamas and Apples in Stereo throughout the '90s didn't make us already feel at home with the sound--but this 1/4 Animal Collective solo album is equally catchy and weird, which makes for comforting and challenging listening in just the right amounts.

That special jezebel of yours is going to fall in love with the variety of eclectic sounds Jesca has put together during this little project she calls the After listening to her tracks and catching her at the Troubador last week in complete hypnotic trance...I agree with Tom Waits...."her music is like going swimming in a lake at night."
