Doc Martin's of Maui Sunblock

First to recommend

Description

Hands down my favorite sunblock for surfing. Goes on thick but does not feel greasy and stays on forever. I have surfed in the tropics and been in the water for hours at a time and never gotten burned when I use this stuff.

NOT good for climbing trips as it leaves your fiingers a bit slippery for too long.

Rip Curl F-BOMB 3/2 GB STEAMER FULLSUIT

First to recommend

Description

Personally, I like the Rip Curl suits fit me best. Their hotskin/fireskin keeps me toasty. Good elasticity and movement, long enough in the torso so no wegdgies. I am 6'1" and around 190 lbs so I often fall between the sizing charts in many suit-makers but Rip Curl has treated me well so far.

Red Bull Energy Drink

First to recommend

18 people recommended this item

Description

OK- I am not sure if Red Bull is actually good, bad, or indifferent from a pure health perspective. But it sure does work. When I need to concentrate at work, having a Red Bull helps me to hyper-focus on the task at hand. A great tool to help grind thru long ppt's or other things that required extended focus.

I am less into Red Bull as something to drink during sports. When I am actually doing a sport, I can get my adrenaline going w/out the extra stimulants which I sort of find to be distracting.

That said, a Red Bull post-session is a great way to end a day of climbing, surfing, etc when you are tired but need a pick-me up, etc

Nike Triax 35 (Super)

First to recommend

Description

This is my favorite watch I have ever owned. Great for all sorts of sports: timer, alarm, lap/split functionality, backlighting, and big display. True, it is a little odd looking but the UI is so good and it seems pretty indestructible. Highly recommended for outdoor fun. I tend to wear it w/my biz suits which I guess is not really the best look ever. But I figure that if Bill Clinton could get away w/wearing an Ironman watch, I ought to be ok in meetings w/my Triax.

Revo RE 3039 Curve Sunglasses

First to recommend

Description

My current favorite sunglasses maker. Lots of good styles. Mostly, I really like their lens quality, especially their polarized lenses- really good at cutting glare. Plus the polarization turns the sky different colors as you tilt your head- vaguely trippy effect.
