Description
Much to my surprise, Tha Carter III proved to more than your regular hip hop album. Infused with infectious beats, melodic lyrics and several cameo appearances, this album has be one of my favorites of the year. My favorite song is a tie between the one with Babyface, the other with Bobby Valentino or the one where Lil' Wayne tells us, "That's how you let the beat build b***h!" This one is sure to become a hip hop classic.

Original released in 2003, the CD still bangs today. When I first heard Anthony's voice, it reminded me of an old soul singer from the 60s. When Anthony sings, he takes you to a musical fantasy land full of soul and inspiration. My favorite joint on this CD is number 12. If you've been sleeping on Anthony, I think it's time you wake up and take a quick listen.

I must admit I'm not one to stay on top of the pop music scene, but one album I did invest in this year was Amy Winehouse's Back to Black. We've all seen this tabloid queen in action this year, but if you haven't given her Grammy-nominated album a listen, you're missing out. Her soulful voice transports you back to a time when music was about someone's voice and not computers. It's no surprise she's also nominated for Best New Artist.
This album also features the nominated Record of the Year Rehab - whether she's in or out of treatment, I hope she wins a Grammy this year.
Update: 5 Grammy's for Ms. Winehouse! Don't stay in rehab too long, we need you.

My ab fab favorite song on this cd is Stronger than ME. Amy sings in that song what I've been saying to men for years. If you need a CD that'll give you validation after you've kicked your deadbeat man to the curb, you've gotta pick your hands on this one.
