Tiger: Statue

First to recommend

Description

Taxidermied Belgian Tiger specimen on painted wooden base? It's a very Addams Family thing to have, maybe that's the point. This fierce Tiger was used for Spring/Summer 2010 Alexander McQueen PUMA campaign "Crane Vs. Tiger" photographed by Nick Knight.

WEDNESDAY COMICS #1 - 12 - DC Comics

First to recommend

Description

In the summer of 2009 DC Comics gave a fresh twist to a grand comics tradition with WEDNESDAY COMICS, a weekly 12-issue series by some of the greatest names in comics today!

The Art and the stories are excellent, and I love the return of the large news print format, I'm old school, I like the way comics look when printed on newsprint.

The Beatles: Rock Band Wireless Rickenbacker 325 Guitar Controller

First to recommend

Description

When John Lennon when looking for a signature sound for his early Beatle performances he reached for the California based Rickenbacker. The actual analog guitar is light, trim, and tight machine, it's harp like sound was perfect for the surf rock and eventually the melodic voice of many of the Beatles early hits.

The Beatles: Rock Band Wireless Rickenbacker 325 Guitar Controller looks as bad ass as John Lennon's 325.

The Beatles: Rock Band Gretsch Duo-Jet Guitar Controller

First to recommend

Description

A product of Williamsburg Brooklyn NYC Gretsch created Duo-Jet Guitar that was played by George Harrison. The Beatles: Rock Band Wireless Gretsch Duo-Jet Guitar Controller is a amazing twist in evolution, it's both toy and high technology at the same time. 1000 times lighter than the actual instrument the Rock Band Wireless Guitar Controller is a try to the design of the iconic body down to the authentic chrome Bigsby bridge and tremolo bar and five-way chrome knob. Fab!

Tim Biskup: Lucky Stack Playing Cards

First to recommend

Description

One of the most inspired deck designs I've seen, Tim Biskup re-imagines playing cards making each card a stand alone work of art. The look is contemporary and yet brings in the feeling of Paul Klee and Joan Miro.

Vogue Italia: The Barbie Issue - 2009 July issue

First to recommend

Description

I'd like to recommend Vogue Italia supplement publication The Barbie Issue. The Barbie Issue features So In Style dolls; which have been designed with more authentic-looking black features, including a new facial sculpt that has fuller lips, a wider nose, more distinctive cheek bones and curlier hair.

"Barbie has been an icon for whole generations which is why I really wanted to give a strong sign in step with the times, and dedicate the anniversary issue to Black Barbie," Sozzani said.

And by the way, in 1967 the first black doll from Barbie was introduced as a friend of Barbie called Francie, followed by the first "Black Barbie" doll, introduced in 1980.

The Barbie Issue continues Vogue Italia's public conversation of physical diversity as it is represented in fashion. Back in the July 2008 issue of Vogue Italia the publication celebrated the best of fashion’s black models including Naomi Campbell, Jourdan Dunn, Iman and Sessilee Lopez. Just thought you might like to know, that issue sold out quickly and has become a sought after collectors item. Nuff said ^_^

P.S. the July issue features the wonderful Kristen McMenamy on the cover
