Light My Fire Spork

2 people recommended this item

Description

A great way to minimalize a picnic or camping trip. The knife on the side of the fork worked on cooked chicken tenders, but I wouldn't go tougher than that. This is also available locally at big-box stores.

I'll all over the collapsable nature here. Is there a better sport than saving space during camping trips? Made of nylon and silicon (via Trusty Pony)

Description

Bring on the solar. Too bad they don't have a solar-powered Sirius radio or CD player, but another good start. Great for backyards, hiking, camping or just inquisitive kids (or adults :) Three ways to charge: sun, hank-crank, plug-in. 30 seconds of cranking = 35 minutes of Dave Matthews. The rechargable NiMH battery can hold 20 hours of playtime. AM/FM/SW/LW

Sun Oven Solar Ovens and Enamel Roasting Pot

First to recommend

Description

I admit, this is more of a curiosity to me. However, perhaps it could be a viable option to outdoor grilling.

Sunlight enters through the glass door, while the black inside transforms it to heat. Bake, boil or steam similar to the rate of a conventional oven without ever burning.

Collapsible and only 21lbs. Ok, so maybe I'm convincing myself to get one now! How awesome for camping or the backyard!

Lehman's - Camp Dutch Oven

First to recommend

Description

Our next camping purchase. Set on coals and place hot coals into lid. For those of you that are not familiar with Lehman's, it caters to the Amish, which means what to us? Eco-friendly, lost-cost, quality products.

Take if from me, any camper would appreciate this. Even for those with firepits, it makes a fun dinner for the family without the use of electricity or gas!

To-Go Ware Carrier, Utensil & Sling Bag Set

First to recommend

Description

Why do I never go on picnics? Probably because it's too much work. Well, this compact stainless steel food carrier and bamboo utensil set fits snugly into a Fair Trade Cotton Carrier Sling Bag. Seems too good to pass up.
The utensil cloth was "produced by WEAVE, a women's cooperative on the Thai-Burma border. By purchasing this utensil set, you will have contributed to their advancement and empowerment, and made a positive impact to global community."
