1949 Ford Woody

First to recommend

Description

Diecast replica of a 1949 Ford woody. Not so much a toy, although it would probably be okay for older kids. I really just want it for my office.

Instant Life Sea Monkeys

First to recommend

Description

Sea Monkeys really do make great pets. I bought a package of them at Marineland in 1984 and didn't hatch them for more than a year. I must say that the Sea Monkey Zoo pictured here makes a much better home for them than a mayonnaise jar. If this is like the one I had, it has areas that magnify them so you can see that they really don't wear bows or crowns. That may or may not be what you want.

Svengali Magic Cards and Mind Reader Cards

First to recommend

Description

Oh come on: what 11-year-old wouldn't LOVE these? Put these in a stocking and prepare for a nice quiet Christmas day while your potential prestidigitator practices card tricks.

Star Trek Retro Action Figures

First to recommend

Description

Oh my goodness. Christmas Break, 1979. One of those discount places that's hardly ever open, with tables and tables of bins of things nobody bought the first time around... or when it went on sale... or when it went on clearance. There was a big bin of Mego Star Trek 8" action figures--mostly McCoy, as I recall, but there might have been some Kirks and Spocks too. I didn't buy them. I've been regretting it ever since.

Now my chance has come around again, in the form of these nifty reproductions of the truly ugly Mego figures. I don't know that I want them anymore, but they'd make nice stocking stuffers for the Trek fans on your list this year.
