Intermatic WH21 Electric Water Heater Timer

First to recommend

Description

It gets great reviews on easy installation and savings of approx. 33% on electric bill. Many users say they have the water heater set to be on for only 4 hours a day (around peak usage) instead of 24! Sometimes I wonder why logic has to be bought!

Looks like these are easy to find around Amazon and maybe your local store. (via Ideal Bite)

Swheat Scoop Natural Cat Litter

3 people recommended this item

Description

I've been using this for a few months now and I do not have ANY complaints, other than the fact that I don't have to worry about my kitty inhaling clay particles into her lungs. Tips: it's never good to put a thin layer of any litter down, load it up and it will clump beautifully. My cat never missed a beat (though she is not picky either) nor did I. Plus the box is paper, much better than the plastic litter containers. I have found it at many stores around town.

Why try it?? It isn't much more than traditional clay litters, it's purely processed wheat (a renewable source), it's 100% biodegradable and non-toxic, flushable with low dust.

Repel : Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent

First to recommend

Description

If you are like me - a world-class mosquito attractor, then you have searched high and low for a DEET-free spray. Well, while in Puerto Rico, we went on a night kayak trip to the biobay. The guides urged us to use this eucalyptus spray, saying it is strong (*whew! Indeed) and effective. DEET adversely affects the little glowing organisms (in addition, to us, as it is a probable carcinogen).

It's not easy to find though! Just shop around your city and you will eventually find it. Family safe and made from renewable resource (lemon eucalyptus). Would also be safe for pets, as dogs can get heartworm from mosquitoes.

If you don't know the beauty of leaf mulch, then I'm here to tell you: It's fabulous! Recycle your leaves for delicious nutrients in the spring.
Small yard owners need not make excuses - this is for you!

Better than chicken wire, as this is supposed to not rust.
