About this list:
Tartan (a specific kind of plaid) is not just for kilts or for girls anymore. Hip on everything from scarves to shirts to dresses to tights to amulets. Speaking with a brogue is optional. Checks, plaids, tartans and tweeds all welcome.
Qualifications:
My second favorite color is plaid.
Bluefly: 'Muffy' brim hat by Eugenia Kim

Description
A sporty twenties style cap gets a winter makeover in a traditional wool plaid and horse-bit and leather trim. And, since this is sleek enough to wear indoors, it is just the ticket for less-than-perfect hair days.

Neiman Marcus: Double-Breasted Coat by Juicy Couture

Description
In addition to sporting a brilliant plaid foundation, this coat reminds me of Ellen Barkin in the movie "Diner": a 1950's housewife with a heart of gold, a killer figure and absolutely no clue whatsoever about why her husband is so obsessed with what's on the flip side of all his 45's. Ms. Barkin would have looked divine with this faux fur collar turned up against the Baltimore chill.

Revolve Clothing: Men's Tartan Shirt in Green/Navy by PEGLEG

Description
Not your father's tartan, this shirt has a more boxy, roomy fit in an itch-free cotton material. Tuck it in, wear a tee underneath or throw a jacket on over it; whatever you do, make it your own.

Description
Perhaps it's because I have Irish, English, Scottish and Welsh blood running through my veins, or that I love nothing better than wrapping myself in one of my warm tartan skirts on bone-chillingly cold days. I just love plaid (black watch being my favorite). This book delves a little deeper into the deep history of the fabric and its steadfast and worldwide popularity.

Elizabeth and James Elizabeth and James Button Back Shirt

Description
In red/navy or black/purple, these slimly tailored shirts are already in a league of their own. But it is the fabulously feminine inverted black pleat which really sets this shirt apart from anything you might find in the men's department. (Also available in solid white.)

Be still my plaid heart ! These tights would be perfect with a black sweater dress or denim mini. Add a pair of Doc Martens and someone just might mistake you for Kate Moss.

Talbots: Bias-plaid skirt

Description
A traditional red plaid takes on a new shape in this maxi skirt. Perfect with boots, go just a little edgier with a higher heel or an open-toe. Take it casual with a denim shirt or turtleneck. Or go formal with patent leather pumps and a crisp, white blouse. This plaid is yours for the making.
