MSR Flex 4 System Cookset

2 people recommended this item

Description

In my never-ending quest for multi-purpose home items, these caught my eye.

This set is designed for campers and includes pots with strainer lids, deep dish plates, and mugs.

However, as a starter set for a small apartment, this could be just the thing! (via REI)

Silicone travel bottles - Set of two

2 people recommended this item

Description

I like the way these look. They're designed to be filled with shampoo, conditioner or lotion that you use at home so you can take them with you when you travel. They hold 2.0 oz. which is the amount allowed by the TSA for airline travel, so you won't have your shampoo confiscated. (via canoe online)

VivaTerra - Tangerine Bonsai

First to recommend

Description

This little tangerine tree is not only adorable, but it will beautify your home and increase the available oxygen there. And there are even little tangerines!

What more could you wish?

This is a great gift! (via Vivaterra)

Fresh Herb Pot

Description

This is a great way to keep herbs fresh, green and useful.

Herbs go in the top of the two piece pot and water goes in the bottom and can be changed frequently. It's on my wish list. (via A Plus R)

Victorian Gift Wrap

2 people recommended this item

Description

This Victorian gift wrap is very stylish and good for many occasions.

I would also use it to cover boxes or file folders that live on top of my desk, or as decoupage.

Generate Design | Senz Umbrella by Gerwin Hoogendoorn, Gerard Kool and Philip Hess

First to recommend

Description

This is a really interesting take on a very familiar item. This umbrella is supposed to be able to operate in winds over 70 mph, though my plans for weather like that lean toward staying inside.

I would be willing to give it a go on a substantially less windy day.

GoYurt Shelters : Truly Portable Yurts and Yurt Kits

2 people recommended this item

Description

This must be my way of dealing with some long suppressed wanderlust but I've been looking at alternate housing forms and this yurt caught my attention.

It is a very practical temporary housing possibility. Mongolian and other nomadic people have used similar homes for generations.

This one is well thought out and made with sustainable yet familiar materials. (no need to provide your own yak hair!)

Envirosax Reusable Grocery Bags

134 people recommended this item

Description

this is an update to my previous post. i have bought stacks of reusable and recyclable shopping bags: however i have now determined that these are the BEST, as they are extremely strong, come in very pleasing, colourful or black & white patterns -- this is the US distributor and they sell these nifty pouches containing five of the bags, a couple for you, some to give as gifts.

the best thing is the rolling-them-up and stowing them in your bag, pocket, glove compartment, whatever -- they are light and small and everyone at the grocery store will ask you where you got yours!

Turbocell Charger

5 people recommended this item

Description

Even if you're not a gadget geek, you might like and probably need this baby. It takes a AA battery and will give you up to an extra 2 hours of talk time should you find yourself out of power. Even if you have the solar charger I've recommended, there are those cloudy days that sometimes come several at a time, giving you no time to recharge.

It looks to be about the size of a lipstick case or small flashlight and has tips to fit most phones. (via ThinkGeek.com)
