Design Within Reach: Mondrian Mirror
First to recommend
Description
Strategically placed within a home or office, mirrors can deflect the "poison arrows" of negative energy that can be directed at a particular room or corner. The clean, straightforward design of the Mondrian mirror collection allows flexibility in placement, ranging in size from 22" by 22" to 96" by 48" and suitable for hanging or standing against a wall.

ORIGAMI SEE-SAW CRANE NECKLACE
3 people recommended this item
Description
The crane is a symbol of longevity in China, Korea, Japan and Vietnam. And indeed many cranes do live for several decades, far longer than most birds. Wearing two cranes may provide you double-fold with health and longevity. But, as with many symbols of luck, part of the charm is in believing.

Memory Quilt Kit

Description
What if you could put all of those old, ratty tee shirts that have so many good memories (perhaps even a few triumphs) attached to them in one place and never be nagged with the thought of discarding them again ? Well, this kit provides the pattern and instructions you need to do just that and actually have something you can put on display once finished. If you aren't handy with a needle and thread, you can always pray upon the sympathies of your sister, girlfriend or Mom to help you get started.

Zagat Survey: Beijing
First to recommend
Description
If you are lucky enough to be heading to Beijing to see some of the Olympic action, be sure to take along this new guide from Zagat. It will help you find your way to restaurants and hotels in your price range, as well as give you some ideas for things to do in between games and competitions.
As the Olympics draw to a close, I am deeply humbled by the dedication of the many athletes who have participated in these events. Many went completely unnoticed, thrilled to simply be a part of the Games. A lucky few exceeded even their own expectations. And one particularly talented individual kept setting record after record with unprecedented focus and sublime athleticism. Thank you to Michael Phelps for lifting our spirits, raising the bar and demonstrating grace both in and out of the swimming pool.

Athleta: Women's Super Swirl Crazy Eights One Piece Swimsuit
First to recommend
Description
Although I am sure that the U.S women's swim team will be wearing red, white and blue for competition, this suit provides good luck for training as the opening on the back is created by two intersecting eights: quite auspicious according to Chinese lore. And we will need it in competing against the Australian women swimmers Libby Trickett, Leisel Jones and Jessicah Schipper.
