Lets Have Lemonade Set
First to recommend
Description
I just added this to the stash of make-believe themed Christmas presents for my two daughters, both of whom LOVE to play house. Oh wait, excuse me. Now that they're 7 and 10 they have changed it to "apartment"- as in they "live in their own apartment." Sigh.
For $10, you can't really go wrong with this one.
From the site:
Nothing goes better with a warm spring day than fresh lemonade. And with this fun, unbreakable plastic set, kids can even help squeeze the lemons - right into the pitcher. Pour into the colorful cups, and stir in additional magic with the cosmic-topped spoons ("Who wants the sun?"). Add wee treats to the four snack plates, and raise a toast to spring.

Insect Capes- Set of Five
First to recommend
Description
5 Capes for $16.95? Great deal. How much fun would they add to a nature walk? Lots. That's how much.
from the site:
Kids sporting these colorful capes look "cute as a bug." How does metamorphosis occur? Easy! Children simply slip their arms through the foam-crafted capes' armholes to blossom into a bee or beetle, butterfly or ladybug - then make-believe magic takes wing. Set of five bugs-to-be is fun for parties.

Interior Design Studio
First to recommend
Description
My ten-year-old actually picked this out of a catalog, exclaiming, "Oh my GOSH this is so COOL!" The ultimate compliment to the toy but kind of a passive aggressive hint to her mother that it was time to let her decorate her room herself for a change. Fabulous kit.
from the site:
If you could redecorate your room, where would you begin? Open our professional pink portfolio and use the supplies to start tracing pieces of furniture - there's enough to redo the kitchen, living room, and play room, too - onto the included vellum.
Get really creative with our Add-On Kits that include more designs to trace and vellum. Kits are for designing decorators ages 9 and up.
Make your designs pretty as a painting with our set of 12 Brush Markers - markers that have little paintbrush tips. For ages 6 and up.
Save $4.90! The Design Studio Special includes Design Studio plus both Add-On Kits.

Portfolio Series Water-Soluble Oil Pastels ~ Classpack of 300~
First to recommend
Description
Several years ago I wised up and started visiting teacher's' school supply/educational resource sites (especially the Clearance links) for bulk purchasing of "the old standards" like glue sticks, Crayola markers and crayons and #2 pencils.
Not only did the one-time investment in a classroom-sized bulk box - or "classpack"- ultimately save me hundreds of dollars over yearly retail purchase prices but it also allowed me to skip the back-to-school panic of running around town filling the school supplies list and late-night meltdowns when 'Oh I forgot it was due tomorrow' art projects arise.
I simply walk downstairs to the basement and load up. In fact, I haven't bought a pencil, glue stick or crayon since 2002! With winter upon us and long hours of "Moooom, I'm booored" ahead, maybe it's time you had a look for yourself!
*From the site:*
This set of bright, vivid colors can be used wet or dry to create a variety of effects. These sticks have a creamy consistency, and are easy to blend into true secondary colors when used dry. Wet, they can be used to create subtle watercolor effects. Excellent for rubbings, wet-on-wet, scratch art and color overlays. A great set for the student artist from the makers of Crayola® products. Non-toxic.
